  • Patent number: 10781357
Abstract: A variety of systems, methods and compositions are disclosed, including, in one method, a method of cementing may comprise providing a cement composition comprising a hydraulic cement, water, and a microcellulose additive, wherein the microcellose additive may comprise microcellulose with a metal deposited on a surface of the microcellose, wherein the metal may be selected from the group consisting of an alkali metal, an alkaline earth metal, and combinations thereof; placing the cement composition in a selected location; and allowing the cement composition to set.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 4, 2016
Date of Patent: September 22, 2020
    Assignee: Halliburton Energy Services, Inc.
Inventors: William Cecil Pearl, Jr., Krishna M. Ravi, Romildo Dias Toledo Filho, Saulo Rocha Ferreira, Iolanda Scheibe De Siqueira
  • Patent number: 10557075
Abstract: A method of cementing a subterranean formation includes forming a cement composition comprising cementitious material, an aqueous base fluid, a nano-reinforcement particle suspension comprising a surfactant and nano-reinforcement particles such as single-wall carbon nanotubes or multi-wall carbon nanotubes; and pozzolanic material; introducing the cement composition into a subterranean formation; and allowing the cement composition to set in the subterranean formation. A method of making a cement composition includes combining cementitious material, an aqueous base fluid, a nano-reinforcement particle suspension comprising a surfactant, and a pozzolanic material, where the rate of hydration of the surfaces of the cementitious material is less retarded by the surfactant than an equivalent cement composition without pozzolanic material.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 14, 2018
Date of Patent: February 11, 2020
    Assignee: Halliburton Energy Services, Inc.
Inventors: William Cecil Pearl, Jr., Krishna Ravi, Romildo Dias Toledo Filho, Oscar Mendoza Reales

  • Patent number: 10202536
Abstract: A method of cementing a subterranean formation includes forming a cement composition comprising cementitious material, an aqueous base fluid, a nano-reinforcement particle suspension comprising a surfactant; nano-reinforcement particle such as single-wall carbon nanotubes or multi-wall carbon nanotubes; and pozzolanic material; introducing the cement composition into a subterranean formation; and allowing the cement composition to set in the subterranean formation. A method of making a cement composition includes combining cementitious material, an aqueous base fluid, a nano-reinforcement particle suspension comprising a surfactant, nano-reinforcement articles such as single-wall carbon nanotubes or multi-wall carbon nanotubes, and a pozzolanic material, where the rate of hydration of the surfaces of the cementitious material is less retarded by the surfactant than an equivalent cement composition without pozzolanic material.
