Patent number: 11945667Abstract: An accident prevention system for a doorway of a loading dock is provided. The system includes a first sensor configured to detect an object in a first predetermined location and having a height that is greater than a predetermined height. A second sensor is configured to activate responsive to detection by the first sensor of an object having a height that is greater than the predetermined height. The second sensor is also configured to detect an object in a second predetermined location after activation of the second sensor. An alert system is configured to generate a humanly-perceivable alert responsive to detection of the object in the second predetermined location after the activation of the second sensor.Type: GrantFiled: June 10, 2022Date of Patent: April 2, 2024Assignees: Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing North America, Inc., Toyota Jidosha Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Rommel B. Patent number: 11565880Abstract: A securement system for restricting rolling of a rollable cart residing on a ground surface includes a first mechanism including a first mechanism base defining a first cavity structured to receive a rolling element of the rollable cart therein while the rolling element is in direct contact with the ground surface. The first mechanism may also include a first mechanism blocking member operably coupled to the first mechanism base so as to be adjustably positionable to a closing position in which the first mechanism blocking member blocks a path of the rolling element out of the first cavity, and also to an opening position in which the first mechanism blocking member does not block the path of the rolling element out of the first cavity.Type: GrantFiled: December 3, 2019Date of Patent: January 31, 2023Assignee: Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing North America, Inc.Inventor: Rommel B. Ceniza

Patent number: 11260707Abstract: A vehicle is structured for exerting a force on a dolly to move the dolly along a ground surface includes a locking pin mechanism having a locking pin, and a dolly tongue receptacle coupled to the locking pin mechanism so as to be movable with respect to the locking pin mechanism to a first position and a second position. A switch is coupled to the dolly tongue receptacle and structured to be operated by movement of the dolly tongue receptacle from the first position to the second position. The locking pin mechanism is structured to extend the locking pin into an opening formed in the portion of the dolly tongue responsive to operation of the switch.Type: GrantFiled: February 4, 2020Date of Patent: March 1, 2022Assignee: Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing North America, Inc.Inventors: Rommel B. Ceniza, Eddie Estanqueiro, Jason L. Turner, Jayson I. Piel

Patent number: 10894553Abstract: A transport dolly includes a base and a tongue rotatably mounted to the base. At least one support is mounted to the base. A first cable guide is coupled to the at least one support. A lever is rotatable between a first orientation and a second orientation. A cable has a first portion attached to the tongue. The cable extends from the tongue to the first cable guide, then to the lever. The lever pulls on the cable when the lever is rotated from the first orientation to the second orientation, so as to decrease a distance between the cable first portion and the first cable guide, thereby rotating the tongue from a lowered orientation to a raised orientation. A spring mechanism exerts a force on the lever to prevent rotation of the lever from the second orientation to the first orientation when the tongue is raised.Type: GrantFiled: November 13, 2018Date of Patent: January 19, 2021Assignee: Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing North America, Inc.Inventors: Rommel B.
