  • Patent number: 4403291
Abstract: A navigation device serves for the self-sufficient destination guidance for street vehicles. At the beginning of a trip, the destination vector is input by way of an input device in the form of destination coordinates (x,y). During the trip, the path traversed is continuously determined in terms of magnitude and direction, with a dead reckoning navigation device. A destination vector is continuously determined from these measured path vectors and the input relative destination coordinates and is displayed in the field of vision of the driver with a display device.

  • Patent number: 4357593
Abstract: Guidance recommendations are cyclically emitted by stationary beacons (transmitters) to all passing vehicles. In the vehicle, the information belonging to the vehicle's travel destination are selected from the totality of the guidance recommendations. This selection occurs with the assistance of the coordinates of a selection network which exhibits selection fields arranged in concentric rings. The side lengths of the selection fields increase exponentially outwardly of the network mid-point. The guidance beacon, as well as each vehicle which passes the guidance beacon, are situated in the mid-point of the selection network. Thus, the coordinate system of the guidance beacon also applies to the travel destination selected in the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 4350970
Abstract: In a method for traffic determination, a routing and information system for individual motor vehicle traffic is used, in which by way of stationary routing station poles, route information and local information are transmitted to the passing vehicles. For the determination of the traffic situation, the traveling times between two routing station poles are measured in individual vehicles with timing units. These traveling times are transmitted, together with the local information of the first routing station pole passed by a vehicle, to the second routing station pole and are considered in determining new route recommendations.

  • Patent number: 4222041
Abstract: A danger alarm system, for example, fire alarm system, utilizing a plurality of detectors which are connected to a central exchange over respective call circuits, the central exchange is provided with a memory in which characteristic data for each connectable detector can be stored. Data is cyclically sampled from the respective individual detectors and simultaneously therewith rated values for the corresponding detector are formed from the stored data and compared with the sampled data and, if necessary, alarm or trouble signals are derived from the comparison results.

  • Patent number: 4176241
Abstract: A fluid-tight protection system is provided for an electromechanical component in a casing. An insulating absorbent covering layer which has a high capillary absorption capacity is disposed over joints or apertures in the casing requiring sealing. The covering layer is impregnated with a sealing compound which preferably has a thin liquid form during the impregnation. An impermeable film may also be provided to cover the absorbent covering layer.
