Publication number: 20240127791Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for generating speech from text. One of the systems includes one or more computers and one or more storage devices storing instructions that when executed by one or more computers cause the one or more computers to implement: a sequence-to-sequence recurrent neural network configured to: receive a sequence of characters in a particular natural language, and process the sequence of characters to generate a spectrogram of a verbal utterance of the sequence of characters in the particular natural language; and a subsystem configured to: receive the sequence of characters in the particular natural language, and provide the sequence of characters as input to the sequence-to-sequence recurrent neural network to obtain as output the spectrogram of the verbal utterance of the sequence of characters in the particular natural language.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 21, 2023Publication date: April 18, 2024Inventors: Samuel Bengio, Yuxuan Wang, Zongheng Yang, Zhifeng Chen, Yonghui Wu, Ioannis Agiomyrgiannakis, Ron J. Publication number: 20240112667Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for speech synthesis. The methods, systems, and apparatus include actions of obtaining an audio representation of speech of a target speaker, obtaining input text for which speech is to be synthesized in a voice of the target speaker, generating a speaker vector by providing the audio representation to a speaker encoder engine that is trained to distinguish speakers from one another, generating an audio representation of the input text spoken in the voice of the target speaker by providing the input text and the speaker vector to a spectrogram generation engine that is trained using voices of reference speakers to generate audio representations, and providing the audio representation of the input text spoken in the voice of the target speaker for output.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 30, 2023Publication date: April 4, 2024Applicant: Google LLCInventors: Ye Jia, Zhifeng Chen, Yonghui Wu, Jonathan Shen, Ruoming Pang, Ron J. Publication number: 20160021288Abstract: A vehicle-reversing display system includes a controller area network, an ultrasonic sensor, a vehicle-reversing image capture device and a display device. The vehicle-reversing image capture device includes a controlling unit and a camera. After a vehicle-reversing parameter of the controller area network is acquired, the controlling unit recognizes a distance from an obstacle through the ultrasonic sensor. If the distance is a first distance, the camera is automatically switched to a wide field-of-view mode under control of the controlling unit. If the distance is a second distance, the camera is automatically switched to a normal field-of-view mode under control of the controlling unit. If the distance is a third distance, the camera is automatically switched to a top field-of-view mode under control of the controlling unit. An auxiliary image is displayed on the display device.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 11, 2015Publication date: January 21, 2016Inventor: CHONG-RON CHEN

Patent number: 8690846Abstract: A disposable waste containment article is disclosed along with a combination of using two articles simultaneously. The article includes a bodyside layer having a first surface and an outer perimeter, and a garment facing layer having an outer perimeter approximately coincident with the outer perimeter of the bodyside layer. An absorbent layer is positioned between the bodyside layer and the garment facing layer. A seal secures the bodyside layer to the garment facing layer. The seal is located inward of the outer perimeters. An ingress is formed in the bodyside layer and is aligned with one of the waste orifices present in a human body such that waste from the human body can pass through the ingress and be collected in the waste containment article. The waste containment article also includes a body adhesive for securing the first surface to the wearer's body.Type: GrantFiled: March 17, 2011Date of Patent: April 8, 2014Assignee: Tisteron, Ltd.Inventors: Ron Chen, Moshe D. Goldwasser, Stanley R. Kellenberger

Patent number: 8123431Abstract: Generating electricity from wheeled vehicles passing along a road, by positioning a hinged protruding flap to generate linear motion of an attached rack upon depression of the flap by a passing vehicle, converting the linear motion of the rack to a rotational motion of an axis by enabling rotation of the axis in one direction only, and regulating accumulated rotational motion to a specified range of rotation speeds. A flywheel is used to accumulate the rotations and enable a relatively stable electricity generation.Type: GrantFiled: May 16, 2011Date of Patent: February 28, 2012Assignee: Innovative Patents Ltd.Inventor: Ron Chen

Publication number: 20090315334Abstract: A system for converting vehicular movement into electricity while serving as a road hump at the same time. The linear motion of the vehicles is transformed by the device into rotational motion and finally converted into electric power. The system comprises a semi-flexible cover strip lying across the path of vehicular traffic, covering the rest of the system, which is encapsulated within a housing embedded in the ground. The cover is connected to a generator via a wing or wings and a mechanism or mechanisms comprising a fly wheel, a rotor, a stator and a clutch. Passing vehicles push the cover strip down, causing the wings to depress, and engaging a clutch that transfers a rotational motion to the rotor, eventually, the rotor drives an electromagnetic generator. The electromagnetic generator converts the rotational motion of the rotor into electrical power.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 20, 2007Publication date: December 24, 2009Applicant: Innovative Paents Ltd.Inventor: Ron Chen
