  • Publication number: 20240077374
Abstract: A single-barometer device, a method for fall detection and a system are provided. The single-barometer device worn on a user is used to measure multiple barometric values continuously by a barometer inside the device. The barometric values are stored in a memory of the single-barometer device. When a current barometric value is produced, the current barometric value is compared with a previous barometric value retrieved from the memory. A barometric difference can be obtained. The barometric difference is then compared with a threshold, and a comparison result is used to determine whether or not a fall event is present. The fall event is confirmed if the barometric difference is larger than the threshold. Further, an acceleration change obtained by an accelerometer inside the single-barometer device can be used to reconfirm the fall event.

  • Patent number: 6863448
Abstract: A fiber optic module having a push button release to unlatch and withdrawal (i.e. unplug) it from a cage or a module receptacle. A kicker-actuator includes a button, an arm or push rod, and a hook in one embodiment to couple to an actuator. An integrated actuator is also provided with the push button subassembly. Embodiments of a withdrawal tab are also provided to pull the fiber optic module away from the cage or module receptacle. A nose grip is further provided pull the fiber optic module away from the cage or module receptacle. A belly-to-belly mounting configuration is introduced for the push button release fiber optic modules.

  • Patent number: 6851867
Abstract: A cam-follower release mechanism for fiber optic modules with side releases. The cam-follower release mechanism translates rotational motion into linear motion. The release mechanism has a rotatable bail lever with a cam lobe that pivots about a pivot point and presses against a bearing surface of the fiber optic module. The release mechanism further has a base with a pin about with the rotatable bail lever may pivot and a sliding fork with sliding side actuators and delatch actuators at each end. As a follower, the base and sliding fork is linearly pulled as the rotatable bail lever is rotated. As the sliding fork is pulled out, the delatch actuators at each end push in on side tabs of a cage into which the fiber optic module may be inserted. The release mechanism further has a spring to apply a force against the rotation of the rotatable bail lever to return it to home and retain the release mechanism moveable coupled to the fiber optic module.
