  • Patent number: 10100933
Abstract: An embodiment includes a valve with a filter in which the flow of water through the valve is stopped by lowering a filter within the valve. This movement of the filter allows a poppet valve to close, stopping the flow of water. Subsequent raising of the filter holds the poppet valve in the open position, allowing the flow of water through the filter for further use. Embodiments are found in drinking fountains and facilitate the maintenance of the drinking fountain by allowing a technician to shut off the water using a screwdriver without requiring the removal of the fountain cover.

  • Patent number: 6684902
Abstract: An accumulator for collecting a volume of a liquid, which includes controls to permit the liquid to rise in a container to a preset upper level, at which level a drain valve is opened causing liquid to flow out of the accumulator. The accumulator utilizes two opened bottom pipes, which are connected through check valves to a controller. The controller is sensitive to the pressure at its inlet port. The pipes are interconnected so that when the liquid reaches an upper level, the pressure at the controller is sufficient to open the drain valve, and once the accumulator is almost empty, the drain valve is closed.

  • Publication number: 20020070366
Abstract: An extractor valve assembly for controlling fluid flow in a fluid flow path. The extractor valve assembly comprises an elastic valve conduit having an outer surface with a pair of grooves. The pair of grooves are formed on opposite sides of the outer surface and intersect a pinch circumference of the elastic valve conduit, and are parallel to a central axis of the elastic valve conduit. When the elastic valve is pinched along the pinch circumference by pinch blades, pinch corners are formed at the pair of grooves, such that the pinching action completely blocks fluid flow. Additionally, first and second pairs of symmetric tabs are formed on the elastic valve on opposite sides of the pinch blades, to reduce stress along the portion of the pinch perimeter which comes in contact with the pinch blades.

  • Patent number: 6311718
Abstract: An activator valve for providing a time temporary vacuum at an output port which is normally at atmospheric pressure. The timed vacuum is provided in response to an increase in air pressure in an interruptible vacuum chamber, such as that by briefly opening the valve between the outside of the valve and the interruptible vacuum chamber. When this pressure increases, a diaphragm holding a magnet moves downwardly attracting a ferro-magnetic disk upwardly. The ferro-magnetic disk opens a valve between the output port and a main vacuum source port. This causes a vacuum to be drawn at the output port, which in turn operates a remote device which the activator valve is controlling. When the source of outside air to the interruptible vacuum chamber is closed the outside air is then drawn from the interruptible vacuum chamber, causing the magnet to once again rise and release the ferro-magnetic member, closing the valve between the main source of vacuum and the output port.
