Abstract: A system and method for identifying and facilitating impulse interactions with music, songs, advertisements, or other content are provided. The system and method may enable impulse purchases of music, or impulse reactions to advertising, or other interactions with various types of content. Impulse content purchases may be facilitated by collecting information about content played over a communication medium. The collected information may be stored in a data repository, such that content requested by a user may be identified. Accordingly, information about the identified content and/or at least one option for purchasing the identified content may be provided to the user, effectively creating an anytime, anywhere virtual point-of-sale.

Abstract: A method of detecting a face in a digital image comprises generating a map from the image, the map having a plurality of elements each corresponding to a pixel of the image, and searching the map for regions of elements corresponding to regions of pixels in the image exhibiting characteristics of a face. The map may have elements corresponding only to a small proportion of the pixels in the original image. Validation of regions exhibiting the characteristics of a face may include matching against templates. Once the location and size of a face has been identified it may be passed to the control system of a camera to enable the camera to focus on that face and/or select a suitable photograph exposure to optimise the exposure of that face.

Abstract: A method of obtaining printed copies of one or more digital picture files from a mobile wireless device is disclosed. An application may be downloaded to the device from an application server. The application runs on the device to enable the user to select the one or more picture files to be printed, and causes the device to download a list of options from a configuration server. The user selects an option is selected from the list, and the selected picture files are uploaded to a printing server, together with an identification of the selected option. Preferably the selected option is a store selected from a list of stores, and the printed copies may be collected from that store.

Abstract: There is disclosed a system and method for the automatic routing of incoming facsimiles (faxes) to their intended recipients. The faxes are received by a fax server and the routing information is automatically determined by analysis of the fax pages. The fax is converted into data in the fax server, whereby it is routed to the intended recipient, for example, in an electronic format such as electronic mail (e-mail). The system does not impose any constraints on the content of the faxes or their sending mechanism, and is thus transparent both from the sender's viewpoint and the recipient's.
