  • Patent number: 8984577
Abstract: A light source package for selectively interrupting power to a light source is provided. An optical element is positioned to reflect a reflected portion of the light from the light source. The reflected portion impinges upon a base that includes a roof panel with a light source side and a sensor side that is opposite to the light source side. The light source side of the roof panel receives the reflected portion of the light and transmits a transmitted portion of the light through the roof panel. The sensor side of the roof panel includes a recess in which a sensing component is located. The sensing component receives the transmitted portion of the light and is configured to interrupt power to the light source when the transmitted portion of the light is below a threshold.

  • Publication number: 20140189888
Abstract: A system and method for providing a secure data container for an ambient intelligent environment are disclosed. A particular embodiment includes: collecting a set of information from a first digital network information endpoint associated with a vehicle; associating, by use of a data processor, a persistent digital identifier with the collected information, the persistent digital identifier being derived from information associated with the vehicle; enabling a user to specify a shared data set from the collected information; enabling the user to specify a set of sharing controls corresponding to the shared data set; combining information identifying the shared data set and the sharing controls in a secure container; and enabling to second digital network information endpoint to access the shared data set via the secure container upon presentation of a valid secure access token.

  • Publication number: 20120056752
Abstract: Content signaturing is provided by a display receiver device comprising one or more source inputs, where each source input is configured to receive a content signal from a corresponding content source. The display receiver device further comprises a content identification module to send sample information derived from each received content signal to a signature processor and to receive from the signature processor content information for each corresponding content source, the content information for a particular content source indicating a content item embodied by the content signal received from that particular content source. The display receiver device further comprises an association module to associate the content item corresponding to the particular content source with one or more associated content items not corresponding to the particular content source.

  • Publication number: 20080172695
Abstract: Various technologies for selecting media (e.g., television media) are described. A media selection method displays a tool for selecting a category, such as a television genre, to a user. Upon receiving a user selection, the selected category having a number of channels is visually illustrated on a channel selection spectrum (e.g., a circular arc channel selection spectrum). For example, if the selected category is sports, then a number of channels corresponding to sports channels are highlighted on the channel selection spectrum. Moreover, in one example, the channel selection spectrum works in conjunction with a touchscreen device. Thus, a user can navigate with his or her finger to quickly select and browse the available channels. Also, optionally, non-highlighted channels are automatically bypassed to assist user navigation. Additionally, upon receiving user selection of a channel, in one example, the media content corresponding to the selected channel is played.

  • Publication number: 20060060031
Abstract: A method of removing broken bolts that avoids applying additional radial pressure at the thread area between the broken bolt and the object from which the broken bolt is desired to be removed. This method consists of drilling and tapping the broken bolt through its long axis with a thread that is opposite to the thread on the circumference of the broken bolt. Tapping is preferably accomplished with a special tap having a shoulder at the shank-thread junction that makes positive contact with the top of the broken bolt. As this contact is made, continued rotation to drive the tap further into the bolt will normally cause the broken bolt to begin unthreading due to the threads being opposite to that of the tap. If it appears that the tap may break before the broken bolt begins to unthread, the tap is remove and a special bolt having the same thread form and size as the tap is threaded into the broken bolt.

  • Publication number: 20050163595
Abstract: A method for retaining a screen clamping rail with bolts having non-round portions between the bolt heads and the threaded portions of the bolts, such as carriage bolts, where such portions between bolt heads and threads are square. The improvement over the prior art being the addition of retainer devices at the junction of the threaded portion and the non-round portions of the bolts after the bolts have been passed through non-round holes of like shape and size in the screen clamping rail. This facilitates the installation of the assembly of screen clamping rail, bolts, and retainers into the media separating shaker machine to clamp the shaker screens against the side of the machine without having the bolts either back out completely or back out far enough so that the non-round portions become disengaged allowing the bolts to rotate while attempting to install and tighten, or loosen, nuts onto the bolt threads from outside the shaker machine.
