  • Publication number: 20140035830
Abstract: A device and method eliminates a shadowing effect on a touch input receiving device. The method includes receiving a touch input on a top layer that includes first conducting lines, a first current passing through the first conducting lines. The method includes determining a location of the touch input as a function of the first current passing through an intermediate layer as a second current to second conducting lines orthogonal to the first conducting lines of a bottom layer. The intermediate layer disposed between the top and bottom sides is configured as a resistive layer applying a resistance value to the first current upon the touch input being received. The first current continues through the first conducting lines along a remainder thereof as a third current after passing through the intermediate layer to eliminate the shadowing effect.

  • Publication number: 20090145957
Abstract: Systems, devices and/or methods that facilitate optimized proximity based information acquisition devices and/or systems. Employing dynamically adjustable interrogation ranges, interrogation directionality, and/or interrogation modalities can result in more optimized power consumption and higher selectivity among targets. Where power consumption is optimized, smaller batteries can be used and/or longer use times can be realized. Further, higher selectivity by reducing interrogation ranges, selecting directionally restricted interrogations, and filtering by modality can result in acquiring data from unintended targets.

  • Publication number: 20060141932
Abstract: Described is a system which includes a wireless arrangement and a mobile unit. The mobile unit includes a wireless transducer and a data acquisition arrangement (“DAA”). The DAA obtains identification data from a marker which is situated on a permanent fixture at a predetermined location. The wireless transducer sends a transmission to the wireless arrangement. The transmission includes the identification data and wireless transmission data. The wireless arrangement analyzes the identification data to determine the predetermined location. The wireless arrangement determines wireless coverage data at the location as a function of the transmission data.
