  • Publication number: 20230079667
Abstract: A method for autonomous risk management using safety ratings for drivers/operators of commercial vehicles. The method includes receiving vehicle, operator, and/or driver (VOD) data associated with events involving and a respective safety rating of the vehicle, operator and/or driver. The method includes aggregating the received VOD data into a VOD safety record and determining, by evaluating the VOD data along with any previously-received, historical VOD data, a corresponding safety rating associated with one or more of the driver/operator. The method includes associating the corresponding safety rating with the VOD safety record and updating a stored copy of the VOD safety record with the VOD data and the corresponding safety rating. The VOD safety record is made accessible via a network portal to at least one insurance company computer for use during evaluation of insurability and premium cost for insuring one or more of the vehicle, the operator, and/or the driver.

  • Patent number: 10268982
Abstract: A method, system, and computer program product provides efficient matching of shipments with carriers and real time online tracking of shipments. The method includes receiving a carrier input that includes a desired end destination of an equipment of the carrier, and a processor locating at least one available shipment having one of (i) a shipment pick-up point within a pre-established, shipment pick-up zone and (ii) a shipment delivery point within an acceptable shipment drop-off zone of the desired end destination. The processor dynamically determines and maps an optimal route and generates and displays an available shipment (AV) user interface (UI), with a complete route for the equipment from a desired starting point to the desired end destination. The processor then calculates and provides, via the AV UI, an opportunity cost of the shipment, based in part on a total number of empty miles associated with the route.

  • Patent number: 9322209
Abstract: An insulating window panel for removable installation into a custom size window opening recess includes longitudinally extending frame pieces configured with joints for interconnecting the frame pieces to form a frame around a transparent flexible glazing sheet. Each frame piece has a longitudinal keder channel with a slot that opens out of a glazing side of each frame piece. The glazing sheet has edges corresponding to the frame pieces; and a keder formed on each of the edges, with a corner cut that spaces apart intersecting kedered edges, all being shaped and sized for sliding each keder edge into the keder channel of each corresponding frame piece such that the frame pieces form joints at the corner cuts and the frame pieces are pulled together at the joints by tension relative to the glazing sheet. Preferably a weatherstrip surrounds the frame perimeter with compressible fins for sealed but removable installation.

  • Publication number: 20100035236
Abstract: A method for selecting novel proteins such as growth hormone and antibody fragment variants having altered binding properties for their respective receptor molecules is provided. The method comprises fusing a gene encoding a protein of interest to the carboxy terminal domain of the gene III coat protein of the filamentous phage M13. The gene fusion is mutated to form a library of structurally related fusion proteins that are expressed in low quantity on the surface of a phagemid particle. Biological selection and screening are employed to identify novel ligands useful as drug candidates. Disclosed are preferred phagemid expression vectors and selected human growth hormone variants.

  • Patent number: 7418311
Abstract: A portable dispensing system comprising a vending machine including an upper snack-holding portion, an intermediate beverage-holding portion, a lower refrigeration portion, contained within a housing that fits within the basket of a golf cart. The snack-holding portion and the beverage-holding portion occupy a common cabinet being separated by an insulating wall, allowing a refrigeration mechanism within the refrigeration portion to refrigerate the beverage-holding portion without refrigerating the snack-holding portion. The cabinet is disposed above the basket within the golf cart, and may be provided with a pair of belts for fastening the dispensing system to the golf cart. Within the snack-holding portion, snacks are held in a plurality of snack-holding bins, with similar snacks being stored in a single bin, separated from one another by sliding platforms.
