This device greatly reduces strain and fatigue due to prolonged writing or drawing. While the device is intended primarily to aid the writing process, it is an instrument that can be used to facilitate the use of tools for sculpting, carving, surgery, etc. It may also be used by manually handicapped persons for activities such as shaving or knitting.
