  • Publication number: 20050020275
Abstract: An asset positioning method and system (700) rapidly and accurately determine the special location of wireless nodes distributed in three-dimensional space. Furthermore, as a by-product, every node also determines the relative offset and drift of every other node's clock, so that it is possible for all nodes to carry out a precise synchronized action (708). The positioning and synchronization protocol has significant implications for a broad range of wireless networking infrastructure and applications. For instance, the rapid availability of accurate location information greatly simplifies and optimises the implementation of ad-hoc networks and sensor-based applications (716). Additionally, the synchronized node operations facilitate the development of new applications, such as phase-locked arrays, in which several low power transmitters coordinate to form a powerful group transmitter.

  • Patent number: 5744556
Abstract: A process for the gas-phase polymerization of polymers which allows for the introduction of an unsupported polymerization catalyst system into the gas-phase reactor, wherein the unsupported polymerization catalyst system comprises (i) a non-volatile materials fraction containing a polymerization catalyst; (ii) a solvent fraction which is at least partially miscible with the non-volatile materials fraction and which is sufficiently volatile to allow for the formation of polymerization catalyst particles when the mixture of the solvent fraction and the non-volatile materials fraction is sprayed into the reactor; (iii) a compressed fluid; and (iv) optionally a slowly vaporizing solvent.

  • Patent number: 4324409
Abstract: A sled body apparatus having an adjustable attachment device for connection to the conventional ski bindings mounted on a pair of snow skis and which can be adapted to connect to the bindings of both downhill and cross-country skis. The attachment device of the preferred embodiment includes adjustable front and rear segments which can be individually pre-positioned relative to the sled body to allow connection to substantially any desired size and style of ski binding. Alternatively, the adjustable attachment device can be utilized to mount a pair of snow skis to a backpack frame for carrying the skis, or to convert a pair of skis into an equipment carrier by using an appropriate sled body frame.
