  • Patent number: 10356872
Abstract: Novel tools and techniques are provided for implementing data transmission, and, more particularly, to methods, systems, and apparatuses for implementing data transmission utilizing techniques used for transient state computing with optics. In various embodiments, a photo-transmitter system of a chromatic transient state data transmission system might send, over optical transmission media, a data signal comprising a series of chromabit values, by emitting, using a set of colored light emitters, a combination of colors representing each chromabit value. A photo-receiver system of the chromatic transient state data transmission system that is communicatively coupled to the photo-transmitter system via the optical transmission media might receive the data signal, each distinguishable color as detected by each photoreceptor corresponding to a combination of emitted colors.

  • Patent number: 10356871
Abstract: Novel tools and techniques are provided for implementing computing, and, more particularly, to methods, systems, and apparatuses for implementing transient state computing with optics. In various embodiments, a chromatic transient state computing system might receive one or more input values and might assign a “chromabit value” to each of the one or more input values. The chromatic transient state computing system might include a plurality of sets of colored light emitting diodes (“LEDs”) and a corresponding set of photoreceptors. Each distinguishable color as detected by one of the photoreceptors might correspond to a combination of colors emitted by a set of colored LEDs, each distinguishable color representing a chromabit value. The chromatic transient state computing system might perform a computing operation using the assigned chromabit values each corresponding to each of the one or more input values, and might output one or more output values resulting from the computing operation.

  • Publication number: 20190012212
Abstract: Novel tools and techniques are provided for implementing a distributed computing mesh, and, more particularly, for implementing a distributed computing mesh using a hierarchical framework to distribute workload across multiple computing nodes. In various embodiments, a hierarchical distributed computing mesh might be implemented using a plurality of network nodes. A first control node may assign at least one first network node as at least one second control node. The second control node might receive a computing task from the first control node. The second control node might designate additional network nodes to process one or more portions of the computing task. The second control node may then divide the computing task and send the one or more portions of the computing task to the additional network nodes for processing. The second control node may receive one or more processed portions of the computing task from the additional network nodes.

  • Publication number: 20180259378
Abstract: A gas meter (100) and like metering systems that are configured for use underwater. The gas meter may embody a positive displacement rotary gas meter having a meter body with impellers that counter-rotate in response to material flow. The gas meter can also comprise an index unit having an electronics assembly to generate a value that equates rotation of impellers with a parameter of the material flow. The gas meter can further comprise a connective interface having a first part and a second part, one each disposed on the meter unit and the index unit, respectively, the first part and the second part coupling with one another to provide data to the electronics assembly, the data corresponding with operating conditions on the meter unit and rotation of the impellers. In one example, the first part and the second part are configured so that the meter unit and the index unit are operable underwater to generate the value.

  • Patent number: 10053819
Abstract: A rail alignment tool for aligning a rail segment of a railroad track positioned on a plurality of railroad ties is provided. The rail alignment tool includes a first side member and a second side member. The first side member includes first and second adjustment arms, and a first connecting member between the adjustment arms. The adjustment arms are positioned on opposite sides of a railroad tie. The second side member receives the adjustment arms and includes a second connecting member. At least one of the side members includes a first adjustment member that extends from the first and/or second connecting members in a first direction substantially perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the rail segment. The adjustment arms engage a bottom surface of the rail segment and move the rail segment away from the railroad tie when the first adjustment member is extended.

  • Patent number: 8739182
Abstract: Requests for retrieval of data items from another data processing apparatus include embedded objects having executable class functions for performing operations at the target data processing apparatus. This has the advantages of the request implicitly sending data as well as requesting data and allows the request to perform a test on data within an object (such as a comparison with parameters of the request to determine whether the request may be satisfied). Objects within the request may be embedded within each other with different encryption and compression applied to the different objects. As well as achieving communication efficiencies, the ability to selectively encrypt components of a request may be used to provide greater security. For example, a store may be able to interpret the request, while credit details may be separately encrypted such that only a bank may decrypt that subcomponent of the request.
