  • Patent number: 8944521
Abstract: A wheel weight assembly mounts to a vehicle wheel disk section. The wheel weight assembly includes an annular starter weight mounted to the wheel disk section. The starter weight has mounting bores extending therethrough and centering taps projecting therefrom. The assembly also includes threaded members, nut members, an outer weight and attaching bolts. The starter weight includes a plurality of depressions. Each depression receives and prevents rotation of a nut member. Each threaded member extends through a corresponding one of the mounting bores and into a corresponding one of the nut members. The outer weight has attaching bores and centering recesses which receives the centering tabs. Each attaching bolt extends through a corresponding one of the attaching bores and is threadably received by a corresponding one of the nut members.

  • Patent number: 6362544
Abstract: A powdered magnetic material stator core with embedded stator windings and a method for its manufacture. Embedding the windings within a radially compacted powdered magnetic material stator core enables equivalent or better electromagnetic performance in a significantly reduced size. Radial compaction of the powdered magnetic material minimizes the distortion of the stator windings during compaction.

  • Patent number: 5491370
Abstract: An electric motive power unit including a multiple phase AC electric machine and heat dissipative electronic components therefor, the improvement wherein the machine is disposed in a thermally conductive housing having cooling fluid passages formed therein, and the heat dissipative electronic components are individually mounted on an exterior periphery of said housing and distributed in a fashion wherein circulation of the fluid through said fluid passages for the cooling of said machine also serves to cool said heat dissipative electronic components.

  • Patent number: 4696660
Abstract: A shield assembly for the front drive line of a mechanical front-wheel drive tractor includes a one-piece, non-telescoping shield which covers the full length of the drive line and its U-joints. The shield receives and is supported by a quill at its rear end and is supported and received by a ring at its front end. The ring has brackets for bolting to the tractor front axle housing. Covers prevent debris from entering the front end of the shield.

  • Patent number: 4071788
Abstract: A field assembly for a dynamoelectric machine, particularly for electric engine cranking motors. The field assembly is comprised of a one piece field frame member formed of a high density compacted atomized iron powder. The one piece frame has a generally tubular configuration and has radially inwardly extending pole portions and outer axially extending grooves radially aligned with the pole portions. The frame carries a plurality of field coils which respectively circumscribe the pole portions of the frame. A pole face plate engages each end of a respective pole portion of the frame and a part of each field coil is located between a face plate and an inner wall of the frame. The pole plates are fixed to the frame by parts extending therefrom which pass through openings formed in the frame that extend between the interior of the frame and the outer frame grooves. These parts are headed over in the area of the grooves to secure the pole plates to the frame.
