  • Patent number: 5612308
Abstract: Detergent compositions comprising a surfactant system that is either (1) a mixture nonionic and zwitterionic detergent surfactants; (2) a mixture of nonionic and amphoteric (non-zwitterionic) detergent surfactants; or (3) short chain nonionic detergent surfactant, the nonionic detergent surfactants preferably being short chain and/or having peaked distribution; optional hydrophobic cleaning solvent; and polycarboxylate, especially dicarboxylate, detergent builder provide superior cleaning of all of the soils commonly found in the bathroom. The compositions have a pH of from about 1 to about 5.5, preferably from about 2 to about 4 when the dicarboxylate builder is used. The compositions are in the form of aqueous liquids. Short chain peaked distribution nonionic detergent surfactants provide surprisingly superior sudsing characteristics.

  • Patent number: 5536451
Abstract: Aqueous, liquid hard surface detergent compositions having good filming/streaking characteristics contain short chain amphocarboxylate detergent surfactant; hydrophobic, volatile cleaning solvent; and, optionally, zwitterionic detergent surfactant and/or monoethanolamine and/or other specific beta-aminoalkanols for improved filming/streaking and good cleaning. Preferred formulas do not contain large amounts of builders and/or other materials that contribute to bad spotting and filming and said formulas are suitable for general purpose cleaning including cleaning of glass.

  • Patent number: 5536450
Abstract: Aqueous, liquid hard surface detergent compositions having good filming/streaking characteristics contain amido zwitterionic detergent surfactant; linear cosurfactant; hydrophobic perfume; stabilizing additive that is C.sub.2-3 fatty acid and/or C.sub.2-6 alkane diol to help stabilize the hydrophobic perfume, especially as a microemulsion; optionally, cleaning solvent, monoethanolamine and/or other specific beta-aminoalkanols, etc. Preferred formulas do not contain large amounts of builders and/or other materials that contribute to bad spotting and filming and said formulas are suitable for general purpose cleaning including cleaning of glass.

  • Patent number: 5534198
Abstract: Detergent compositions having good filming/streaking characteristics contain effective amounts of specific substantive materials to increase the hydrophilicity of the glass. Preferred formulas contain a amphoteric, including zwitterionic, and optionally, but preferably, anionic detergent surfactant at levels (e.g., from about 0.02 to about 15%); hydrophobic solvent; alkaline material, especially volatile alkaline materials comprising monoethanolamine or certain beta-amino-alkanol compounds; and salt of polycarboxylate, preferably polyacrylate, polymer at effective levels (e.g., from about 0.01% to about 10%, by weight of the composition).

  • Patent number: 5531933
Abstract: Aqueous, liquid hard surface detergent compositions having improved cleaning and good filming/streaking characteristics contain specific polycarboxylate detergent builders at critical levels. Preferred formulas contain a zwitterionic/anionic detergent surfactant mixture at levels (e.g., from about 0.02 to about 15%); hydrophobic solvent; alkaline material, especially volatile alkaline materials comprising monoethanolamine or certain beta-amino-alkanol compounds; and salt of ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid as the detergent builder in levels (e.g., from about 0.05% to about 0.5%, by weight of the composition).

  • Patent number: 5362422
Abstract: The present invention relates to an aqueous, liquid, hard surface cleaning compositions containing amphoteric/zwitterionic detergent surfactant, specific anionic surfactant, cleaning solvent, optional nonionic detergent surfactant, and buffer. The buffers can be either alkaline or acid for improved cleaning of acid sensitive soils like soap scum and/or hard water deposits. The presence of the specific anionic surfactant permits the inclusion of more of relatively hydrophobic materials like cleaning solvents, which provide improved cleaning, especially under acid conditions where some greasy/oily soils are more difficult to remove.

  • Patent number: 5001677
Abstract: The present invention provides methods for processing and displaying seismic data to emphasize potential hydrocarbon bearing strata. The methods treat measured attributes from the seismic data as components of a vector, estimate a background vector which represents uninteresting geologic behavior, and then form at least one new attribute which quantifies departures from this uninteresting behavior. The new attributes(s) and other attributes are then appropriately displayed.
