  • Patent number: 8468644
Abstract: An apparatus for use in cleaning a floor uses a flat mop including a generally flat mop head having a handle and absorbent fabric material. The mop head is foldable to a folded condition, wherein a loop of the fabric material depends from the folded parts. The fabric material is inserted into cleaning liquid to wet the material. The mop head is introduced to a wringer to wring the material between the jaws and a wringing surface. The damp absorbent fabric material is used to mop the floor. The floor is dried using a separate drying tool that includes a head secured to a handle, and one or more attachment devices to attach a dry absorbent cloth to the head. The floor is dried by applying the cloth to the floor using the tool and moving a dry portion of the cloth over the floor.

  • Patent number: 8463899
Abstract: Embodiments disclosed herein can significantly optimize a root cause analysis and substantially reduce the overall time needed to isolate the root cause or causes of service degradation in an IT environment. By building on the ability of an abnormality detection algorithm to correlate an alarm with one or more events, embodiments disclosed herein can apply data correlation to data points collected within a specified time window by data metrics involved in the generation of the alarm and the event(s). The level of correlation between the primary metric and the probable cause metrics may be adjusted using the ratio between theoretical data points and actual points. The final Root Cause Analysis score may be modified depending upon the adjusted correlation value and presented for user review through a user interface.

  • Patent number: 8156529
Abstract: In one embodiment, the present invention is an improved interactive television system and method for t-commerce. The data for upcoming products is pre-loaded into the system's memory. When a product becomes available, a “trigger” appears on the Vertical Blanking Interval (“VBI”) of the shopping channel that causes the system to display special graphics with which the user can interact to order a product. The displayed special graphics may include text, graphics, and/or video about the product. A user can browse a list of upcoming products and select items that he or she wishes to purchase, as soon as the products become available. The system then monitors the VBI of the shopping channel and when a trigger for a selected product appears in the VBI, the system immediately sends a message (the order form) to the order center of the shopping channel and orders the product. The system can accomplish this function unattended while the user is asleep or otherwise occupied.

  • Publication number: 20100211395
Abstract: Method and processing system for measuring the intelligibility of a degraded output signal (Y(t)) from an audio transmission system (10) in response to a reference input signal (X(t)). A measurement device (11) is arranged for outputting a measure (I) for the speech intelligibility of the output signal (Y(t)). The measurement device (11) executes processing of the input signal (X(t)) and output signal (Y(t)) to obtain a disturbance density function (D(f)n). The disturbance density function (D(f)n) is corrected by multiplying it with a correction function for each frame derived from a correlation calculation of the compensated pitch power densities (PPX?(f)n) associated with the input signal (X(t)) of a present frame (n) and an independent previous frame (n?2). The corrected disturbance density function (D?(f)n) is aggregated over frequency and time to obtain a measure (I) for the speech intelligibility of the output signal (Y(t)).
