  • Patent number: 4778401
Abstract: A card cage includes upper and lower support members which define a slot for receiving a printed circuit board. An engagement mechanism includes one or more handles pivotally mounted on the front of the card cage. Each handle, in turn, is pivotally attached to a rod which extends to the rear of the card cage and terminates in an extraction member which receives the rear corner of a cirucit board. When the circuit board is mounted in the card cage, the handle is pivoted to contact the forward edge of the board and urge it into position in the cage, thereby urging contacts along the rear edge of the board into engagement with a connector at the rear of the card cage. When the board is to be removed from the card cage, the handle is pivoted in the opposite direction, enabling the extraction member at the rear to pull the board forwardly out of engagement with the connector and permitting the board to then be removed from the card cage.

  • Patent number: 4621877
Abstract: The present arrangement enables first and second section, or first second and third sections, of a housing device to be secured together without the necessity of a plurality of screws, or winged nuts, or clamps, or the like. In a preferred embodiment two side walls are formed with grooved edges. Each of the groove edges has its outer wall placed in abutment with a different associated resilient gasket and between the resilient gaskets there is located an extension member of a third wall. The grooved edges have an inverted U-shaped compression strip forced thereinto and the compression strip in turn forces the outer walls of the grooved edges toward the resilient gaskets which in turn are squeezed against the extension member thereby locking the three walls together rapidly. The removal of the compression strip enables the side walls to be free and hence separatable to enable the user to work on items inside of the housing.

  • Patent number: 4258967
Abstract: An integral pivot and lock apparatus for slide rack mounted mounting boxes is disclosed. The apparatus comprises a positioning means, such as index plate (38), having a number of locking positions (46), (47), (48); the positioning means is fastened to the box (14) by a pivot means (40) and to the slide rack (16). The mounting box (14) contains a locking means such as locking arm (34) mounted on a slideable retractor plate (24). The apparatus enables the slide rack mounted box (14) to be pivoted and locked into a number of different positions when the box has been extended from the housing (10). Safety stop features are also included in the apparatus.
