  • Patent number: 5047242
Abstract: Derivatives of azadirachtin are described which should facilitate their synthesis and provide greater stability than their naturally-occurring counterpart. The derivative 2',3',22,23-tetrahydorazadirachtin is also described, that derivative retaining full activity and having enhanced stability. Also described is a newly identified, naturally occurring derivative of azadirachtin, 1-cinnamoylmelianolone, and several of its derivatives. Insecticidal and antifeedant compositions including these compounds, and processes for their use, are also described.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 13, 1987
Date of Patent: September 10, 1991
    Assignee: Native Plant Institute ("NPI")
Inventors: James A. Klocke, S. Mark Lee, Ronald B. Yamasaki
