Abstract: A manually operated device or tool for manipulating or working the earth or soil. A preferred embodiment possesses an elongated digging rod having an adjustable handle assembly configured to quickly locate and fasten to a plurality of predetermined set points located on the elongated digging rod. The apparatus compensates for the incremental deepening of a hole as the digging activity progresses so to enable a user to better maintain a preferred, upright, working posture. This is accomplished by adjusting the elongated digging rod, given a substantially constant handle assembly height, to consecutively lower settings corresponding to the increasing hole depth.

Such special receptacles can be used in a variety of static environments having sloped surfaces including: hills, damaged or structures under construction, sloping roofs, and the like. The primary object is to provide a substantially horizontal storage or support structure for objects.

Abstract: A window is provided in the floor of the crane cab and a reflecting mirror is located in front of the operator which is positioned such that the operator can look through the window without leaving his seat. With the orientation of the mirror and window, the operator can view the area below and behind his seat without having to move from his seat. The operator has a clear view of the area in which the load is to be moved and can determine the best and safest time to move the load.

Abstract: A portable stanchion for containerized ships is set forth. The portable stanchion includes a vertical post which is attached to a lock shoe, and the vertical post contains rings through which ropes may be passed. The portable stanchion may be locked in position to the ship's deck by operating a foot lever, and it may be removed therefrom by operating the foot lever and lifting the stanchion from the holes formed within the ships deck to which the stanchions may be attached. Ropes may be passed between the stanchions in order to further enhance the safety provided by the Bel stanchion.
