  • Patent number: 11234433
Abstract: A tree stand is disclosed for use in supporting an occupant in an elevated position in a tree. The tree stand includes: a ladder assembly; a support structure secured to the ladder assembly; a jaw assembly; a strap assembly; and an anchor that is securable to the tree. The jaw assembly includes first and second jaws, and is pivotally secured to the support structure such that the jaws are inwardly movable to close the jaw assembly. The strap assembly includes a first strap that extends from the support structure into contact with the first jaw, and a second strap that extends from the support structure into contact with the second jaw. The strap assembly is connectable to the anchor such that the straps are arranged in overlapping, crosswise relation behind the tree, whereby a tensioning force applied to the strap assembly forces the jaws inwardly towards the tree.

  • Publication number: 20210051946
Abstract: A securement mechanism for a ladder tree stand includes jaws pivotably attachable to a platform. When open, a tree can pass between the jaws. A strap assembly attaches to the jaws. A tension can be applied to the strap assembly from the ground before climbing the tree to pivot the jaws to close around the tree. The strap assembly can be anchored to the tree so that the jaws are pulled closed against the tree. A respective end portion of the strap assembly can attach to each of the jaws between its pivot axis and free end. The strap assembly can include a pivot strap secured to the jaws and a tensioning strap connected to the tree and secured to the pivot strap to slide along its length.

  • Patent number: 10662049
Abstract: A ladder tree stand raising apparatus for raising a ladder tree stand into position adjacent to a tree. The apparatus comprising an elongated member, a first lateral member, and a second lateral member. The elongated member having a first end and a second end. The first end of the elongated member is connectable to the tree. The first lateral member is connected to the second end of the elongated member. The second lateral member is connected to the elongated member and spaced a distance from the first lateral member. The second lateral member has at least one arm having a substantially U-shaped configuration. The at least one arm is engageable with a rung of the ladder tree stand. An open end of the at least one arm extends away from the second lateral member.

  • Patent number: 8695761
Abstract: A ladder tree stand for supporting a hunter at an elevated position, comprising a seating platform assembly, a ladder assembly, and a truss assembly. The seating platform is adapted for frictional engagement with a tree. The ladder assembly has an upper end and a lower end, wherein the upper end of the ladder assembly is supportingly connected to the platform. The truss assembly includes a flexible cable and a brace. The flexible cable has a first end connected to the ladder assembly near the upper end of the ladder assembly and a second end connected to the ladder assembly near the lower end of the ladder assembly The brace is connected to the ladder assembly and in engagement with the flexible cable to space an intermediate portion of the flexible cable from the ladder assembly for tensioning the flexible cable to thereby brace the ladder assembly against deflection.

  • Publication number: 20060169538
Abstract: A tree stand is provided, having a frame. The tree stand may be a standing tree stand in which case the frame includes a platform on which a user may stand; alternatively, the tree stand may be a seating tree stand in which case the frame includes a seat on which a user may sit. The tree stand includes a cable dimensioned to be wrapped around a tree. The tree stand is configured so that tension in the cable may be adjusted while the tree stand supports the weight of the user. In one aspect, the tree stand employs a rotatable sleeve in one arm for adjusting the length of the cable by adjusting the tension in the cable.
