  • Publication number: 20220373259
Abstract: A mobile steel grit dryer used to dry steel grit may be configured with a number of different functions and features to assist a contractor in performing steel or other structure maintenance when using steel grit in resurfacing the structure. The steel grit dryer may be configured with a heat process vacuum bypass so that an off-board vacuum, such as a vacuum on a grit recycling system, may be utilized as opposed to having an onboard vacuum. The dryer may include multiple modes so that an operator may use different modes for different environmental conditions. An exoframe may provide for better durability when being transported to different jobsites. A variety of automation and safety features may also be provided to simplify and improve safety for operators.

  • Publication number: 20210370469
Abstract: A method of processing steel grit may include moving steel grit into a pre-classifier, weighing the pre-classifier with steel grit being processed by the pre-classifier, and altering a functional process to process the steel grit based on the weight of the pre-classifier including the steel grit. A machine for processing steel grit may include a pre-classifier configured to process steel grit to remove debris from the steel grit. A support member may be configured to support the pre-classifier. Multiple rotatable link assemblies may connect the pre-classifier to the support member to enable the pre-classifier to freely rotate as a function of gravity when supported from the support member. A weight sensor may be configured to weigh the pre-classifier including steel grit contained in the pre-classifier.

  • Patent number: 10695891
Abstract: A system and method for managing abrasive blasting may include cumulatively timing a duration of blast media being blown in performing abrasive blasting using an abrasive blasting machine. A cumulative time duration that an operator worked in association with the duration of the blast media being blown may be received. A blasting efficiency ratio may be computed based on the cumulative time duration of the blasting media being blown over a time period, such as a time period that the operator worked. The blasting efficiency ratio may be displayed to a user.

  • Patent number: 5212911
Abstract: A modular device for abrasive particle blasting, a method of assembling a mobile abrasive particle blasting device, an apparatus for cleaning steel grit, and a method of cleaning steel grit are disclosed. The modular abrasive particle blasting device includes an abrasive particle storage component, an abrasive particle recovery component, and at least one subframe, adapted for carrying one of the components of the device. The subframe has a first vertical side defining a vertical boundary plane of the subframe and means for reversibly attaching the subframe at the vertical boundary plane to a second subframe structure. The reversible attachment between the first and second subframes is accomplished by providing a bolting pad on the vertical side for complimentary alignment with bolting pad on the adjoining subframe. A lifting attachment is also provided.

  • Patent number: 4309850
Abstract: A portable sandblasting apparatus for continuously treating horizontal surfaces along a path of adjustable width. The apparatus is mounted on a movable platform which is drawn by a motor vehicle or self-propelled along the desired path. The apparatus has sandblast nozzles which reciprocate from side to side with respect to the direction of motion as the apparatus advances so as to provide treatment of a pre-set width of surface. By adjusting the amplitude of reciprocation, positioning the nozzles for continuous coverage and by varying the number of nozzles functioning, the width of surface to be treated may be varied greatly and readily adjusted.
