  • Publication number: 20210367496
Abstract: A system consisting of a magnet mounted on a shaft wherein both North and South poles are enclosed within the volume of a cylindrical coil and said shaft is spun by mechanical means thereby producing a current in said coil primarily by way of the Lorentz force and as said system slows down there is inherent positive Electro-magnetic and Electro-mechanical feedback.

  • Publication number: 20130283828
Abstract: In an apparatus and method for chilling or freezing objects, an interior surface of a rotating drum includes recesses formed between prominences extending inwardly from the interior surface. One or more liquid CO2 nozzles inject solid CO2 towards the interior surface. The injected snow replenishes a depth of solid CO2 in empty or partially empty recesses and/or provides a fresh layer of solid CO2 on top of the objects. Because the interior surface is made of polyethylene and the depth of solid CO2 is replenished in empty or partially empty recesses, the product/drum sticking problem experienced by conventional apparatuses and methods is reduced or avoided. Optionally, the CO2 snow is injected into empty or partially empty recesses by at least one first liquid CO2 nozzle and is deposited on top of the objects by at least one second liquid CO2 nozzle so that each opposing surface of the object is in direct contact with solid CO2.

  • Publication number: 20130000350
Abstract: An apparatus for the removal of hydrocarbons from a body of water comprising a temperature reduction device comprising a heat exchange in thermal communication with a flow of a liquefied cryogen, the temperature reduction device being adapted to receive a hydrocarbon/water mixture, position a first surface of the at least partially phase separated mixture in thermal communication with the heat exchanger, and reduce the temperature of the at least partially phase separated mixture to a temperature sufficient to cause the hydrocarbon phase to at least partially congeal or at least partially solidify.

  • Patent number: 6139935
Abstract: An oxygen-absorbing label consisting of a base sheet, adhesive on the base sheet for securing the base sheet to an internal surface of a container, an oxygen-absorbing composition on the base sheet, and a cover sheet secured to the base sheet to confine the oxygen-absorbing composition therebetween, the cover sheet being fabricated of material which will permit oxygen to pass therethrough but will not stain due to the oxidation of the oxygen-absorbing composition or due to contact with materials in the container. A plurality of the foregoing labels are mounted on a web to be used with conventional labeling equipment.

  • Patent number: 5746937
Abstract: An oxygen absorbing composition having an effective amount of at least one oxygen absorbent contained in an emulsion. An oxygen absorbing product is produced by dispersing an oxygen absorbent in an emulsion to form an oxygen absorbing composition and transferring the oxygen absorbing composition onto a substrate.

  • Patent number: 5730785
Abstract: A canister for a desiccant or other particulate material including a substantially cylindrical molded plastic body having an integral end wall and an inner surface and an open end, a cap having an inner surface and a portion which enters the open end of the body and is retained therein by a bead and groove connection, desiccant in the canister, and very small apertures in the cap and end wall, the apertures diverging in diameter from the inner surfaces of the cap and end wall toward the outer surfaces thereof to thereby tend to impede passage of the desiccant out of the canister and also tend to obviate clogging of the apertures.

  • Patent number: 5686161
Abstract: An oxygen-absorbing label and a moisture-sensitive label. The oxygen-absorbing label consists of a base sheet, adhesive on the base sheet for securing the base sheet to an internal surface of a container, an oxygen-absorbing composition on the base sheet, and a permeable cover sheet secured to the base sheet to confine the oxygen-absorbing composition therebetween. The moisture-sensitive label is one wherein a moisture-sensitive material is used as part of the label instead of the oxygen-absorbing composition. The moisture-sensitive material may be a moisture adsorber such as silica gel or molecular sieve, or it may be a moisture supplier such as hydrogel. A plurality of the foregoing labels are mounted on a web to be used with conventional labeling equipment.
