  • Patent number: 8460421
Abstract: The air filter assembly or “air box” includes a flat base tray mounted to velocity stacks and a detachable filter box. The base tray includes a number of pliable mounting shoes, which are seated within openings formed in the base tray. The mounting shoes are formed or molded of a pliable synthetic rubber and are configured to have a number of ports through which the velocity stacks extend. Each stack port is defined by a bowl shaped depression that diverges into an annular collar. The base tray is mounted to the velocity stacks by hose clamps that compress the annular collars of the mounting shoes around the stacks. The detachable filter box is held to the base tray by six quick release latches.

  • Publication number: 20130133298
Abstract: The self-cleaning air filter uses reverse pulse self-cleaning for small scale, small volume air filtration applications, such as vehicles and motorized equipment. The self-cleaning air filter includes a filter casing, a filter element housed within a filter casing, an electronically controlled pulse valve that releases the compressed air pulse, and a pulse pressure relief vent. During the cleaning cycle, the pulse pressure vent opens to vent the compressed air pulse to the atmosphere thereby maintaining the positive pressure differential between the inside and outside of the filter element, which sustains the cleaning action for the duration of the compressed air pulse.

  • Patent number: 8323370
Abstract: The invention has a captive tooless fastener for securing the engine intake air filter. The tooless fastener comprises shaft and associated bodies. The body has two arms oriented about 180 degrees apart. The shaft is threaded through a sealing washer and an aperture in a closed end cap of the air filter. The shaft is expanded so it cannot be removed from the end cap. The body's threaded inner diameter mates with a threaded portion of a central shaft in an air filter housing. The body's arms are rotated to screw the fastener and the shaft of the housing together. When tightened, the sealing washer closes the aperture. To remove the air filter, the fastener is unscrewed from the shaft of the housing and in the shaft floats in the aperture. A person in the field can remove the air filter by inserting fingers under the arms and pulling.

  • Patent number: 5223008
Abstract: A horizontally mounted filter cartridge dust collector includes a housing and a plurality of filter cartridges horizontally mounted in rows on a cartridge cradle disposed inside the housing for supporting the cartridges. The cartridge cradle includes a plurality of vertical risers and horizontal tubes attached between the risers and an inner wall of the housing separating the dirty and clean air plenums. A single access door facilitates inspection and servicing of all of the filter cartridges and the entire dirty air plenum. Pairs of studs attached to the inner wall mate with corresponding grooves in the cartridge end caps to precisely locate the horizontal and vertical positions of the cartridges. Clamping mechanisms are provided to compress and seal each row of cartridges to isolate the clean and dirty air plenums. Each clamping mechanism includes a rotatable shoe for isolating the cartridges and gasket seals from torque being applied to operate the clamping mechanism.
