  • Patent number: 9374693
Abstract: A cell phone with software to provide options to auto-respond to incoming text message or phone calls with a pre-stored text message or audio message. In some embodiments, the auto-response text message can be one selected by the user from among a plurality of pre-stored text messages. In other embodiments, the user can also choose an auto-response audio message to play to callers. In some embodiments, the cell system makes a determination of the speed at which cell phones in the system are moving for at least phones to which incoming text messages or phone calls are directed, and automatically determines whether or not to send an automated response message. In some embodiments, the cell phone makes a determination of its speed and asks the user if he or she wants to auto-respond to incoming texts or calls or both if moving at driving speed.

  • Publication number: 20160030142
Abstract: A dental crown cementation soft tissue and biologic attachment protective membrane has a dental membrane and a membrane carrier. The dental membrane is attached within the membrane carrier for easy manual manipulation. The dental membrane is used during dental crown installation to prevent dental cement from leaking out from the interior cavity of the dental crown into the gingival sulcus and surrounding soft tissue. The dental membrane is placed atop a dental abutment onto which the dental crown is to be installed. The dental crown is pressed onto the abutment over the dental membrane, causing excess cement to be extruded from the interior cavity onto the dental membrane. The dental crown then has minimal excess cement. The dental crown is then removed as well as the dental membrane, the cement on the exterior crown surface is removed, and the adequately cemented dental crown is again attached to the dental abutment.

  • Patent number: 8971860
Abstract: A cell phone which has been modified by the addition of software which responds to the press of one or more Busy keys by automatically sending a pre-typed text message to the sender of the latest text message just received or automatically answering an incoming call immediately upon pressing the Busy key and playing a pre-recorded audio message. The outgoing text or audio message can inform the sender of the incoming text or the caller that the user is driving or otherwise engaged and cannot respond immediately. In some embodiments, one or more Busy keys can be added keys or one or more existing keys on the cell phone or on the keypad of the cell phone or on a touchscreen or a visual depiction of a keypad on a touchscreen of the cell phone.

  • Publication number: 20100288569
Abstract: A very light, very small (½ lane width) carbon fiber composite hull, single passenger (or two passenger in tandem F18 cockpit style) Formula-One-form-factor, flex-fuel, plug-in hybrid with swappable battery packs. The battery pack not being used will be charged by a home charging station that uses solar panels during the day and a computer to control the charge and which completes the charge from the grid at night or at low demand times to even out the load on the grid. The flex fuel engine may only drive a generator like in the case of the Chevy Volt and will run on ethanol, compressed natural gas or gasoline. The car will have very low drag as the Formula One front and rear aerodynamic wings will be extended to cover the open wheels to reduce vortices. These wings will also be covered with solar panels to provide partial trickle charge while the car is in the sun while parked at work etc.

  • Publication number: 20080163647
Abstract: A jewelry arrangement having a mounting, a main gemstone positioned in the mounting, and a plurality of secondary gemstone positioned in the mounting underneath the main gemstone. The main gemstone can have a crown with a table and a pavilion, wherein the table can be positioned adjacent and at a first distance from the plurality of secondary gemstones. The main gemstone can also have a plurality of side which converge toward each other and have a plurality of facets. The sides can coverage towards a top which can be a second distance from the secondary gemstones such that the first distance is less than the second distance. An optical illusion can be created by orienting a main gemstone above a first number of secondary gemstones and configuring the main gemstone so that when the secondary gemstones are viewed through the main gemstone, a second number of secondary gemstones is visible such that the second number is greater than the first number.

  • Publication number: 20060161630
Abstract: An apparatus and method is provided for a configuration of client work stations for instant messaging, wherein a participant intending to send a particular segment of chat content can elect to send the segment in an “off the record” mode. Content sent in this mode can be viewed but cannot be copied or saved by other instant messaging participants. The apparatus usefully includes a mode select device operable by the participant at a given station to designate each of a succession of chat content segments generated at the given station to be either for unrestricted use, or for off the record use, selectively. The apparatus further includes a component for applying a first use control message to each of the off the records segments sent from the given station to one or more of the other stations.

  • Publication number: 20060161629
Abstract: An apparatus and method is provided for substantially reducing the possibility that a message received at a computer terminal during an instant messaging conversation will become accessible to unintended viewers. A useful embodiment is directed to an arrangement wherein a computer terminal at a first client work station is disposed to receive chat messages from a second client work station during an instant messaging conversation. Apparatus associated with the computer terminal for limiting access to the received chat messages includes a device for attaching a security identifier to each received chat message. A display device at the computer terminal generates a window that selectively provides a specified one of the chat messages in viewable form. A concealment device coupled to the display device is-operable to make the specified chat message unviewable on the display device. A component connected to the concealment device activates the concealment device when a prespecified event occurs.

  • Publication number: 20060161666
Abstract: An apparatus and method is provided for use in instant messaging or chat conversations between participants at client computer terminals or work stations. When a participant wants to save some or all of the chat transcript, the participant actively requests consent from all other participants. The consent request includes the specific content to be saved, and provides a variety of options for responding to the request, such as to approve, disapprove, or delete selected text. In a useful embodiment, apparatus for controlling use of chat content includes a content control device located at least at a first one of the client stations, the control device connected to regulate use by a first station of specified chat content received from at least a second station.

  • Patent number: 7023867
Abstract: A PBX system using an unmodified personal computer as the host server and using expansion slots to couple one or more switch cards to the system bus, and, optionally including a network interface card to couple the PBX system to other client computers running telephony enabled applications to control the PBX via a local area network. The switch card(s) are each coupled to a chain of one or more port expansion units that do not consume expansion slots. Each PEU contains a DSP and a microcontroller, an FPGA and port interface circuitry to interface to POTS CO lines, extension telephone lines, T1 lines or PRI lines. The personal computer is programmed with a PBX process that controls operations of the overall system and may also be programmed with conventional voice mail applications or integrated voice response and other applications to implement various telephony functions such as recording voice mail or prompt callers to input DTMF tones indicating what they want to do.
