  • Publication number: 20100270526
Abstract: A fence rail bracket assembly for mounting a fence rail to a fence post includes a mounting bracket and at least one retainer clamp that locks to the bracket without using any tools. The mounting bracket mounts to the post, has a bottom wall that supports the rail, and has two sidewalls that receive the rail between them. At least one sidewall coupling element interlocks with at least one clamp coupling element to lock the clamp to the bracket and thereby secure the rail on the bracket. In example embodiments, the bracket assembly includes two clamps each having one coupling element, one clamp having two coupling elements, push-lock coupling elements, slide-lock coupling elements, and angular slide-lock coupling elements.

  • Publication number: 20090152523
Abstract: A self-locking panel assembly for mounting between a pair of fence posts or deck posts has a first elongate rail having an elongate lower opening, a second elongate rail having an elongate upper opening, and an elongate fence panel having an upper edge and a lower edge. The upper edge of the panel is inserted into the lower opening of the first elongate rail, and the lower edge of the panel is inserted into the upper opening of the second rail. Catches are formed in the first and second rails and/or in the edges of the fence panel such that when the upper and lower edges of the fence panel are inserted into the openings in the rails, the catches hold the fence panel securely in place in the rails.

  • Patent number: 6711864
Abstract: A plank having a wood core with a groove formed in each of its sides and a protective cladding formed on its top surface. The wood core is formed by bonding a plurality of wood strips or chips together. The cladding is provided by a sheet of a material selected from the group consisting of plastic, polyvinyl chloride (PVC), acrylic, polycarbonate, and composites thereof that is bonded to the top surface, or by two or another number of sheets of a material selected from the group consisting of polyester, phenol, epoxy, and composites thereof, that are sprayed or rolled onto the top surface. T-shaped connector clips can be provided with the arms receivable in the grooves of the plank for securing adjacent planks together.

  • Patent number: 6601831
Abstract: A plastic modular fence system having posts, a first rail, a second rail, and upright picket boards extending between the rails. A plurality of mounting brackets each have a T-shaped opening for receiving an end of one of the rails therein and an edge of a picket therein. The bracket opening extends through the peripheral wall in places to allow the edge of the picket to extend out of the bracket on opposite sides. Also, the rails have openings configured to receive the generally vertical picket boards when the rails are positioned either horizontally or at an angle to the horizon. For example, the openings in the intermediate rail have a generally trapezoidal shape with one opening end longer than the other opening end.

  • Patent number: 6557831
Abstract: A fence mounting bracket for use with a fence, railing, or the like having upright posts, lateral rails extending between the posts, and upright picket boards extending between the rails. The bracket comprises a body having a peripheral wall defining a T-shaped opening including a rail opening portion for receiving an end of one of the rails and two picket opening portions for receiving an edge of one of the picket boards. The peripheral wall has opposing side walls that are slanted and/or inwardly flanged to receive the rails when they are positioned either horizontally or at an angle to horizontal. The picket opening portions extend through the side walls to permit the picket boards to seat flush against the upright posts so that little or nor gap remains therebetween.
