Abstract: The invention is a tackle container that incorporates interchangeable and removable inserts. The inserts secure different kinds of fishing lures and baits. For example, the inserts hold segmented lures within notched upright posts. In this regard, the inserts may be suitably structured to hold spinner bait lures, buzz bait lures, or other fishing lures with segmented bodies. Moreover, the inserts are interchangeable to facilitate a wider variety of uses for the tackle container.

Abstract: A tackle container with barriers extending across the bottom of the interior cavity holds fishing lures in a fixed position and allows easy retrieval of each lure. Each barrier in the container includes a curved wall that converges with the bottom of the container. The barrier thereby forms a nesting space between the backside of the curved wall and the bottom of the container. A fishing lure fits under a barrier with its hooks wedged into the nesting space to hold the lure in a desired position. The barriers may be removable inserts having rails that slide into slots along the sidewall of the container. The inserts may be positioned in a variety of configurations.

The container includes channels running parallel to one another, with curved or slanted walls so that the bottom of the channel is offset from the top. A portion of each channel is therefore beneath a portion of the neighboring channel. This small area creates a nesting space for the treble hooks of the lures, with the weight of the lure tending to immobilize the hooks against the barrier, preventing them from tangling with each other, or other lures.

Optionally, a pocket for holding bait jars is also provided, either as an integral part of the organizer or as a removable attachment. A replacement device having adhesive tabs for holding conventional storage bags to the binder rings is also provided.
