  • Patent number: 4134003
Abstract: A dishwasher utilizing treating liquid for washing dishes in a treating cycle and air for drying the washed dishes in a drying cycle. An electric heater is provided for heating the dish-treating liquid and the drying air. A control is provided for energizing the heater to heat the treating liquid as an incident of the dishwasher operating in the treating cycle and selectively causing energization of the heater as an incident of the dishwasher operating in the drying cycle. • Patent number: 3971540
Abstract: A control valve assembly for an appliance includes a control valve and a swivel garden hose type connector for releasably connecting the fluid inlet of the control valve to external plumbing. The connector is securely and permanently affixed to a mounting bracket which is affixed to the cabinet of the appliance and is adapted for connection to the external plumbing by an internal thread. The integral connection of the connector and mounting bracket isolates the torque generated in securing the external plumbing to the connector and transmits the torque via the mounting bracket to the appliance cabinet. The swivel connector provides for ease in installation and/or replacement of the control valve. A grounding strap connected at one end to the control valve and to a predetermined location of the mounting bracket physically orients the fluid outlet of the control valve to a proper position for connection to a conduit which carries fluid from the control valve to a washing chamber of the appliance.

  • Patent number: 3936107
Abstract: A door construction arranged to permit interchangeable disposition of a selected panel face of any one of a plurality of different panels having different appearances. The door construction may include a fire wall panel forwardly of electrical control wiring therein and an interchangeable decorative panel assembly may be removably installed forwardly of the fire wall panel. The decorative panel assembly has a thickness similar to that of conventional wood paneling, thus permitting substitution of wood paneling in the door construction as desired. The door construction is arranged to permit facilitated changing of the exposed panel face at any time. The fire wall panel is electrically conductive and grounded and the decorative panel assembly is spaced forwardly of the fire wall panel. A control console at the top of the door construction is recessed to receive an upper edge portion of the decorative panel assembly for facilitated installation and removal.
