  • Patent number: 8137802
Abstract: A coated carbon-carbon composite material with multiple ceramic layers to provide oxidation protection from ultra-high-temperatures, where if the carbon-carbon composite material is uninhibited with B4C particles, then the first layer on the composite material is selected from ZrB2 and HfB2, onto which is coated a layer of SiC coated and if the carbon-carbon composite material is inhibited with B4C particles, then protection can be achieved with a layer of SiC and a layer of either ZrB2 and HfB2 in any order.

  • Patent number: 4347089
Abstract: A method for forming a homogeneous bond between silicon nitride ceramics is disclosed which comprises melting a bonding composition placed between the surfaces to be bonded. The bonding composition is specifically selected to provide in the bond or joint the same chemical constituents found intergranularly in the silicon nitride materials to be bonded. The resultant bond is as strong or stronger than the silicon nitride materials bonded.

  • Patent number: 4063552
Abstract: A mouthguard, serving to protect the teeth, temporomandibular joint, head and neck, is user formed of silicone material by placing uncured silicone material in a tray, impressing the upper teeth into the material, removing the tray before complete curing of the material, impressing the biting or occlusal surfaces of the lower teeth into the material, and permitting the material to cure. The tray is flexible and may comprise two or more separate or separable pieces to facilitate removal.
