  • Patent number: 6917478
Abstract: An optical head assembly, method, and procedure which generates and then precisely positions multiple light beams onto a target. The system diffracts an input light source into a multiple light beam pattern, or initially generates a multiple light beam pattern, in which individual beams of the multiple light beam pattern are precisely spaced, corrected, focused and directed through a two axis plane to the target with minimal movement of any components of the optical head assembly. Such individual beams can also be individually modulated.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: July 12, 2005
    Assignee: T Squared G, Inc.

  • Patent number: 6396971
Abstract: A method and a system for generating optical waveforms from electrical signals is disclosed. An input electrical signal is sampled to obtain a single channel data which is converted to multi-channel data. The multi-channel data is converted to multi-channel electrical pulses which are input along with a light source output into a switch array containing optical switches to obtain a multi-channel optical waveform made up of a plurality of optical waveforms. These waveforms are superpositioned to generate a stacked optical pulse. Alternatively, the multi-channel data may be converted to a multi-channel optical pulses. The stacked optical pulse may be used to write data to a storage medium.

  • Patent number: 6151289
Abstract: A multi-byte, random access, mass storage/memory system is capable of storing multigigabytes of information and communicating that information over various standard output channels at high transfer rates. The system includes drive, software and media components configured to operate with no moving parts or substantially no moving parts. The system stores/retrieves data from a non-rotational media using an optical head that concurrently sweeps multiple parallel data tracks. The non-rotational media is a high density, rewritable/erasable structure capable of storing large amounts of digital information. The media has an open form factor based upon single cell zones which can accommodate various storage requirements. Also, the mass storage system has an internal bus structure that allows the system to act in isolation or multiple systems to act independently, but in concert for mass storage for one or more hosts.
