  • Patent number: 5344287
Abstract: A combination fan and fan shroud adaptor assembly includes a fan with a circumferential wall, front and rear grill faces and a driven fan blade between the faces and within the wall. The fan shroud adaptor has a substantially flat frame which is attachable or hinged to a building wall in confronting relationship with a building opening through the wall as to close the building opening. An opening is within the frame, slightly larger than the fan circumferential wall, for receiving and supporting the fan wall in close engagement with the frame and alignable with the building opening. Means may be located adjacent a lower portion of the frame opening for receiving and supporting the fan in the frame opening in a secure fashion for air exhaust, intake and circulation.

  • Patent number: 5236391
Abstract: A corrosion-free, condensation-free, flush-mounted automatic air intake has a rectangular plastic frame insertable into an agricultural building ceiling or wall opening and fastenable thereat. The frame has a flange therearound for mounting and supporting an attic or wall housing forming an insulation barrier. The housing may also be integral with the frame flange. A lip extends outwardly from the frame and engages the room side of the ceiling or wall for fastening thereat in a flush-mount arrangement. The frame has a central frame or baffle opening for permitting fresh air to pass therethrough. An inwardly projecting flange is on the frame around the opening forming a baffle seat. A baffle is pivotally mounted and adapted to rest in the baffle seat flush with the frame, to close the baffle opening and to swing outwardly to permit air to pass through the intake and into the room under the influence of the building exhaust fan.

  • Patent number: 5088388
Abstract: An all season, adjustable fresh air intake for agricultural buildings is claimed which is adapted to adjust the volume, velocity and direction of fresh air drawn from the outside, through the intake and into the building suitably by exhaust fans. The intake is firstly comprised of a hollow building body. The body extends from outside the building, through a ceiling or wall of the building with an opening extending into the building for bringing fresh air into the building from the outside. An air intake housing with at least one opening is attachable to the building body on the inside of the building at the body opening through which fresh air from outside may flow. A pair of independently adjustable deflectors are pivotally mounted onto the housing adjacent the opening in opposing relationship to each other to manually open and close the opening as well as direct the fresh air from ceiling to floor as the fresh air is drawn into the building through the fresh air intake.

  • Patent number: 4818183
Abstract: A low impedance safety guard for an air circulating fan with rotating fan blades which prevents a human hand, finger or foot from getting into the path of the rotating blades while yet achieving the unrestrictive air stream benefits of a relatively open guard which is generally considered unsafe. The guard comprises rear and front parallel and opposing substantially open, air stream unobstructive fan blade guard faces which will permit the hand, finger or foot to pass partially therethrough. A substantially closed circumferential wall is provided which connects the rear and front faces to enclose the fan blades approximately equal distant from the respective faces to prohibit the hand, figure or foot from reaching the blade path after passing partially through either face should a person unfortunately attempt to do so.
