  • Patent number: 8977691
Abstract: A request for information or services available on an intranet may be made by users on an extranet outside the intranet. An email is generated in an external server on the extranet in response to the request for information or services, and then sent from the external server to an internal server inside the intranet. The email comprises one or more approved forms based on the request, wherein specifics of the request are embedded into the body of the email. The email is processed at the internal server, in order to generate a response to the request, wherein the response is returned by the internal server to the external server in a reply email. Abstract: This invention is a modular, adjustable, easy to maintain, portable or fixed food sanitation tunnel, comprising an enclosing means for subjecting food to sanitizers including UV light, ozone, hydroperoxides, superoxides and hydroxyl radicals, and a method for using the system. The enclosing means includes one or more UV radiation sources and one or more target rods located within a tunnel, such as a c-shaped shell. The UV radiation sources are preferably UV light sources that emit UV light of approximately 185 to 254 nm. The target rods are approximately up to 0-30% titanium dioxide, up to 0-30% silver and up to 0-30% copper, by weight. The system may include a mister for the efficient production of hydroxyl radicals by the UV light sources. Parts of the system are easily removable for cleaning and for maintenance. • Publication number: 20060276094
Abstract: The present invention is a composite laminated sheet material suitable for structures such as containment sumps. The laminated material comprises a fabric-backed thermoplastic layer upon which thermoset plastic is applied to the fabric side. The thermoplastic layer is formed by contacting a layer of fabric onto a layer of molten thermoplastic such that the liquid thermoplastic permeates a portion of the fabric layer to form a mechanical bond with the fabric layer when the thermoplastic layer cools and hardens. Thermoset plastic, such as fibreglass resin, is sprayed onto the fabric side of the thermoplastic layer to allow the liquid resin to permeate the fabric layer. Once the resin cures and hardens, the fabric layer is mechanically bonded to the cured thermoset plastic layer to effectively bond the thermoplastic layer to the thermoset plastic layer.

  • Publication number: 20060266221
Abstract: An air cleaning apparatus comprising at least one UV light source and at least one target structure comprising a plurality of elongated tubular elements, whereby air cleaned by the UV light source in the presence of the target structure creates a zone of plasma including advanced oxidation products. The target structure incorporates at least one selected from the group consisting of titanium dioxide, copper, silver, and rhodium. The plurality of tubular elements is arranged in one or more matrices of elongated tubular elements. The matrices are optimized to allow air to flow through the elongated elements. The matrices comprise two parallel wall-shaped structures of stacked tubular elements, and the UV light source is located between two wall-shaped structures, whereby air flows through the tubular elements. A frame and an insulating UV light transparent cover generally surrounding the UV light source may be provided.

  • Patent number: 7047260
Abstract: Methods, systems, and executable instructions are provided for selecting an optimal tree summary operation. Tree summary operations are evaluated based on their efficiencies in calculating a tree summary from a tree having a plurality of nodes. Moreover, in one embodiment, by using tree constants and processing constants the efficiencies of the tree summary operations are determined. Once the efficiencies of the tree summary operations are determined, one of the tree summary operations is selected as an optimal tree summary operation for calculating the tree summary of the tree.

  • Patent number: 6771164
Abstract: Techniques and devices for automatically identifying a local device are provided. An adapting device is interposed in between a local device and a central processing device. The adapting device receives a unique transmission frequency from the processing device over electrical power lines. The unique transmission frequency is communicated to the local device and is used by the local device and the processing device for subsequent communications. Moreover, in some embodiments, the local device provides a local device type to the adapting device that is sent by the adapting device to the processing device and used by the processing device to identify a command set recognized by the local device. In other embodiments, the adapting device translates messages sent from the processing device and communicates the messages to the local device. Furthermore, in some embodiments, the adapting device translates messages sent from the local device and communicates the messages to the processing device.

  • Patent number: 6761209
Abstract: A method is described of operating a hot-chamber pressure diecasting machine and a pressure diecasting machine suitable for the implementation of this method, by which a prefilling of the casting system can be carried out before the actual mold filling operation. During this prefilling operation, the air present in the casting system after each shot when the casting plunger is withdrawn, is pressed out during this prefilling operation through the mold which is still open during this time period. This amount of air therefore no longer has to escape during the subsequent mold filling operation. The mold filling operation and the pressing-in operation can therefore be implemented more effectively and within a shorter period of time.

  • Patent number: 6490590
Abstract: A logical data model is generated based on business rule metadata, data source characteristics, and cleansing, transformation, and householding metadata. A physical data model and extraction and loading routines are generated from the logical data model. A physical database design (PDD) and data description language (DDL) are created for constructing a data warehouse. The data warehouse is constructed according to the PDD and DDL. Data is moved from the data source to the system database for cleansing, transforming, and householding. The data is then loaded into the data warehouse.

  • Patent number: 6373986
Abstract: A method of compressing data utilizes the prime number series to generate unique compression parameters that may be used to recover an original data stream. The original data is converted from a binary form to a decimal form. Various compression parameters are selected to initialize the system. The compression parameters include the number of prime numbers which will be used in the compression process and an exponential value corresponding to each prime number. A header is constructed which includes the compression parameters. The data is compressed by a compression algorithm which performs successive division operations by the series of prime numbers selected. The compression algorithm generates a plurality of exponential values corresponding to each of the prime numbers. The header is then assembled with the exponential values and transmitted to a receiving station.

  • Patent number: 6289463
Abstract: The present invention is provided by installing a piece of computer software on a Windows NT system to enable the Windows NT system to bypass messages sent by a Unix system while communications are being established over a phone line between the two operating systems. The Unix operating system has a communications protocol which sends out messages during and requires a password and login to establish communications. The present invention provides a port grabbing routine, a skipping routine, a calling program and a Unix emulator to enable the Windows NT system to establish communications with the Unix system without having to alter the Unix system in any way.
