  • Patent number: 5423446
Abstract: A tapered, tubular, flexible sheet material is provided as a vapor seal between a gauge well pipe and a gauge well sleeve of a floating roof in a liquid storage tank, the larger end of the seal being rigidly affixed to the sleeve and the smaller end of the seal slidingly disposed about the gauge well pipe which is affixed to the tank. The smaller end of the seal is connected to a circular weight supported by the sleeve via a plurality of cables within the hollow of the seal, and a plurality of spring loaded sections are connected to and between the weight and the well pipe to permit movement of the seal as the floating roof moves thus causing the sections to slide up and down on the well pipe.

  • Patent number: 5138891
Abstract: A system for a gauge well in a liquid storage tank with a floating roof including a floatable container located inside the gauge well and having a flexible laterally or radially serrated flange extending outward from the float and in contact with the inside of the well pipe to prevent vapor from the liquid stock from rising in the pipe. There may be a pair of such flexible flanges vertically spaced apart with the lower seal being just above the level of the liquid stock in the well pipe. A tape is attached at its lower end to a weight in the well pipe below the float and its upper end is connected to a winch outwardly of the upper end of the well pipe. A vertical passageway through the float is provided for the tape to pass freely therethrough and the float is freely slidable on the tape. The container includes a closed opening which is selectively opened to fill with the liquid stock at any selected level in the tank.

  • Patent number: 4427426
Abstract: Ozonizer and water purifier. The ozonizer comprises at least one, preferably two or more, units each having an inner, rod-like electrode and an outer tubular electrode and a glass tube carrying the outer electrode. End plates are provided which are formed with sockets. Each inner electrode is seated in a pair of sockets with its ends abutting the closed ends of the sockets and clamped thereto by screws. The glass tube has its ends abutting shoulders in the sockets. A drier is provided for drying the air to be ozonized. Periodically hot air is passed through the drier to dry the dessicant material. Ambient air is sucked through the drier by a venturi device which also serves to mix ozonized air with the water to be purified.

  • Patent number: 3937093
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a lower unit for a marine propulsion device including a drive shaft housing, a gearcase housing connected to the end lower of the drive shaft housing and having an interior wall defining an elongated, axially extending cavity, a propeller shaft extending axially in the gearcase housing cavity and carrying a propeller, and a hollow bearing carrier member generally encircling the propeller shaft and carrying a bearing for rotatably supporting the propeller shaft in the gearcase housing cavity. The bearing carrier member is removably fastened by bolts or the like to a resilient, annular anchoring element which fits into and frictionally engages an internal annular groove in the gearcase housing to retain the bearing carrier against the axial displacement relative to the gearcase housing and to minimize rotation of the bearing carrier relative to the gearcase housing.
