  • Patent number: 3947849
Abstract: An integrated receiver and navigation instrument receives RF navigation signals and performs hyperbolic coordinate conversions utilizing a specially programmed computer to control the measurement modes and sequences and to improve the accuracy of the navigational information produced. An RF unit processes the incoming signal for use by a Digital Measurement unit which makes digital measurements at preselected points on the incoming signal waveform, and which can operate in various modes. The specially programmed computer controls the operating modes of the Digital Measurement unit, performs coordinate conversions, and provides navigational information using various parameters obtained in the receiver section of the instrument. The Digital Measurement unit modes permit a search for a desired signal, positioning of the measurement points on the signal and continuous tracking of the signal.
