  • Patent number: 11334640
Abstract: A computer system provides personalized location-based weather services. Weather data for a location is processed to generate a plurality of panels, wherein each panel comprises weather information organized according to a topic of the panel. An order is determined for the plurality of panels, wherein the order is based on one or more factors including an interaction of a user with one or more previously presented panels, a selected event being identified, and a proximity of a forecasted event to a current time. A visualization is generated on a display, including the plurality of panels configured to be navigated according to the determined order. Embodiments of the present invention further include a method and program product for providing personalized location-based weather services in substantially the same manner described above.

  • Publication number: 20210263186
Abstract: A computer system provides location-based weather services. Weather data is processed to determine one or more weather values for a location. The one or more weather values are compared to baseline weather data for the location to identify a weather event, wherein the weather event is identified in response to determining that the one or more weather values deviate from a corresponding one or more baseline values of the baseline weather data by a threshold amount. A request is received from a user device for weather information for the location. Information relating to the weather event is provided to the user device. Embodiments of the present invention further include a method and program product for providing location-based weather services in substantially the same manner described above.

  • Publication number: 20150366469
Abstract: A system that continuously monitors cardiovascular health using an electrocardiography (ECG) source synchronized to an optical (PPG) source, without requiring invasive techniques or ongoing, large-scale external scanning procedures. The system includes an ECG signal source with electrodes contacting the skin, which generates a first set of information, and a watch-like device, worn on a limb such as an arm or a wrist, having a reflectance-based PPG signal source that generates a second set of information. Together with a processing module, housed within the watch-like device and configured to receive and process the first and second sets of information, from which the time differential of the heart beat pulmonary pressure wave can be calculated, continuous data related to cardiovascular health markers such as arterial stiffness can be determined. Automated heart rate calibration of the reflectance-based PPG sensor can also be achieved.

The system includes an ECG signal source with electrodes contacting the skin, which generates a first set of information, and a mobile device having a camera which acts as a PPG signal source that generates a second set of information. Together with the mobile device's processor, configured to receive and process the first and second sets of information, from which the time differential of the heart beat pulmonary pressure wave can be calculated, continuous data related to cardiovascular health markers such as arterial stiffness can be determined. Variations of the ECG source may include a chest strap, a plug-in adaptor for the mobile device, or electrodes built into the mobile device.

  • Publication number: 20070164117
Abstract: The present invention provides methods of forming and detecting non-visible marks and articles marked in accordance with the methods. In accordance with the methods of the invention, a marking material is applied to a substrate to form a mark that is contrastable from the substrate in one or more regions of the infrared portion of the electromagnetic spectrum. The mark is covered with a film, which can be a bonded coating or a non-bonded covering sheet, that comprises an amount of one or more inorganic pigments such that the film appears opaque in the visible portion of the electromagnetic spectrum but is sufficiently transmissive in one or more regions of the infrared portion of the electromagnetic spectrum to facilitate the detection of the mark covered by the film. The non-visible marks can be applied to articles such as automobile parts, aircraft parts and other articles of manufacture to deter counterfeiting.

  • Patent number: 6981167
Abstract: A parallel processor with a built-in sub-phase clocking scheme is provided to execute sequentially executed programmable logic controller (PLC) programs in a parallel method. A translator program will translate the PLC logic design from a coding language into Electronic Design Interchange Format and that will be eventually converted to a hardware or software embodiment of the logic. The processor provides a plurality of sub-phase clock periods. The translator assigns to the same sub-phase period program elements that process their tasks in the same range of time. The elements are grouped into sub-phase so that logic elements are performed lock-step to ensure that downstream element are performed at a time when they have valid values at their inputs. The processor consequently avoids race conditions in the system and allows the parallel execution speedup of programs written for a sequential machine such as a PLC.

  • Publication number: 20050095534
Abstract: The present invention provides a light reflecting polymeric composition that includes at least one halogenated-flame-retardant-additive-free polymer having dispersed therein a pigment package including a combination of Sb2O3 and TiO2. The Sb2O3 and TiO2 preferably have an average particle size within the range of from about 0.05 ?m to about 1.0 ?m, and more preferably about 0.2 ?m. When used in combination, the Sb2O3 and TiO2 pigments synergistically interact together to provide a polymeric composition exhibiting a reflectivity that is substantially higher than can be obtained by the use of either of the pigments alone.
