  • Patent number: 4081862
Abstract: A mixing machine more particularly for pastes, doughs, slurries or the like has a mixing chamber with a central core, a pair of rotary mixing elements, one for sweeping the surface of the core and the other for sweeping the wall of the chamber and a static pin within the chamber between the mixing elements whereby a product is sheared and divided during mixing.

  • Patent number: 3995000
Abstract: Low density nuclear fuel pellets are produced by mixing uranium dioxide powder and/or plutonium dioxide powder with ammonium oxalate, forming the mixture into pellets and sintering the pellets.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 3979074
Abstract: A machine particularly suited for the range or bunk feeding of animal foodstuffs in stacks, large bales, or groups of smaller bales is designed to disintegrate the mass of material on the move and to discharge the disintegrated material in a continuous stream along the ground or into the feed bunk. A vertically swingable lift on the machine picks up the mass and swings it into a raised position wherein the mass is tightly clamped against a deactivated bank of shredding rolls and is maintained protectively cradled in such position for transport to a feeding site. Actuation of the shredding rolls and continued swinging of the lift forces the mass into the rolls to completely disintegrate the mass while the machine is advanced. The bank of shredding rolls is inclined away from the lift such as to facilitate disintegration and discharge of even the last remnant of the mass and to enhance the cradling action provided for the mass during transport and disintegration.
    Type: Grant

Inventors: Allen Andrew White, Ray Addison Adee, Ronald Henry Knopp
  • Patent number: 3953286
Abstract: Sintered nuclear fuel pellets of improved dimensional stability under irradiation are produced by controlling the production of voidage in the pellets during manufacture of the pellets.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 3932240
Abstract: Solid rocket propellants which utilize hydroxy terminated polybutadiene as he binder and a reactive burn-rate catalyst selected from 4, 4-diferrocenyl-1-pentanol and 3, 3-diferrocenylbutyl isocyanate are disclosed. The burn-rate catalysts are chemically bound to the binder to prevent migration.
