  • Publication number: 20220270768
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention are directed to a method for production of a nuclear fuel pellet by spark plasma sintering (SPS), wherein a fuel pellet with more than 80% TD or more than 90% TD is formed. The SPS can be performed with the imposition of a controlled uniaxial pressure applied at the maximum temperature of the processing to achieve a very high density, in excess of 95% TD, at temperatures of 850 to 1600° C. The formation of a fuel pellet can be carried out in one hour or less. In an embodiment of the invention, a nuclear fuel pellet comprises UO2 and a highly thermally conductive material, such as SiC or diamond.

  • Patent number: 9553825
Abstract: Electronic information is made available to access requestors based on anticipated demand. Electronic information stored on a first storage medium is identified for transport. A determination is made to store the electronic information on a second storage medium that is more accessible to the access requestors. The determination is based on an anticipated demand of the access requestors for the electronic information. The anticipated demand is determined based at least on information that is not particular to any single access requestor. The electronic information then is stored on the second storage medium and the access requestors are provided access to the electronic information from the second storage medium.

  • Patent number: 9372060
Abstract: A socket and wrench gauge provides for the portable and precise measurement of the dimension of a bolt or nut across the flats thereof, in order to determine the precise size of the socket or wrench required for use therewith. The socket and wrench gauge consists of two parallel jaws with gripping points, with the first jaw and gripping point extending laterally from an elongated slide scale and the opposite jaw and gripping point extending laterally from an elongated body receiver and raceway through which the slide scale operates. The scale consists of two linear rows of dimensional numbers thereon, with each of the numbers corresponding to a distance between the two jaws and gripping points. The numbers are placed longitudinally along the face of the scale for simplicity and greater legibility.

  • Publication number: 20150207756
Abstract: Electronic information is made more readily available to one or more access requestors based on an anticipated demand for the electronic information using a process, system or computer software. For instance, electronic information stored on a first storage medium is identified for transport (e.g., in response to a request of at least one of the access requestors), and the electronic information is transported accordingly. Afterwards, a determination is made to store the electronic information on a second storage medium that is more accessible to the access requestors than the first storage medium. The determination is based on an anticipated demand of the access requestors for the electronic information. The anticipated demand is determined based at least on information that is not particular to any single access requestor. • Patent number: 8997672
Abstract: An article has a surface topography for resisting bioadhesion of organisms and includes a base article having a surface. A composition of the surface includes a polymer. The surface has a topography comprising a pattern defined by a plurality of spaced apart features attached to or projected into the base article. The plurality of features each have at least one microscale dimension and at least one neighboring feature having a substantially different geometry. An average feature spacing between adjacent ones of the features is between 10 ?m and 100 ?m in at least a portion of the surface. The surface topography can be numerically represented using at least one sinusoidal function. In one embodiment, the surface can comprise a coating layer disposed on the base article.
