  • Patent number: 6637156
Abstract: Extendable flower pot (10) for holding a plant comprises bottom pot (30) and extendable upper barrel (20). Upper barrel (20) is adapted to nest inside bottom pot (30). A plant is potted in flower pot (10) in a nested position. When the plant needs more room for its roots, upper barrel (20) is pulled to an extended position, increasing the depth and volume of pot (10). Additional soil is then added. Rim (22) aids gripping of upper barrel (20) and keeps water and soil out of the gap between bottom pot (30) and upper barrel (20) when flower pot (10) is in the nested position. Upper annular protrusion (21′) and bottom annular protrusion (31′) cooperate to stop upper barrel (20) from accidentally being pulled out of bottom pot (30).

  • Patent number: 6029393
Abstract: A rodent trap comprised of two members movable relative to one another such that the enclosure has an open position for permitting access into the interior of the enclosure by a rodent and a closed position for retaining the rodent. The relative movement is imposed by a biasing device, selectively positionable for rendering the trap operable in a rodent suffocating mode for killing an entrapped rodent or in a non-suffocating mode for releasing the entrapped rodent. Movement is activated by a biased triggering device which detects the pressure of the rodent. The rodent traps include locking members permitting two or more traps to be selectively and removably engageable with each other in a side-to-side configuration, a back-to-back configuration, or a combination thereof.

  • Patent number: 5446992
Abstract: A rodent bait station for the eradication of rats, mice and other rodents and vermin, which is safe for use around children, pets and other non-target species. The bait station includes an outer housing and an inner housing slidably movable with respect to the outer housing. The inner housing is movable between open, closed, and extended positions. When the inner housing is in the extended position, poisonous bait can be loaded into the bait station. When the inner housing is in the open position, rodents can access the poisonous bait located in the bait station. When the inner housing is in the closed position, the poisonous bait is substantially sealed within the bait station. The inner housing automatically moves from the open position to the closed position in response to being lifted off a supporting surface, thereby preventing the exposure of the poisonous bait to non-target species.
