    Abstract: The present invention relates to a device for and method of cutting vinyl window shades mounted on a roller. The device includes jaws for clamping the roller to stabilize it during the cutting operation, a blade fixed to a wheel that revolves around the roller and that is drawn toward the roller by centrifugal force as the wheel revolves, a device for stopping the wheel if the cutting blade contacts a metal shade roller, and another device for stopping the wheel if the blades travels a predetermined distance.
