Patent number: 5276596Abstract: This invention provides an elongated flexible member that is capable of being formed into a plurality of differing shapes so that it can be supported at a variety of locations and has retaining means for retaining it in a desired shape so that a holder connected to one end thereof can hold a flashlight at any desired position relative thereto.Type: GrantFiled: June 23, 1992Date of Patent: January 4, 1994Inventor: Ronald L. Patent number: 4838396Abstract: The handle for a luggage case has two end portions and a rigid portion extending substantially across the top side of the case between two ends of the top side when in a first position. One end of the handle is pivotably attached to one end of the top side of the case. The other end of the handle is securable to the other end of the top side of the case. When the handle is in a first position it enables a user to lift and carry the case. The securable end of the handle may also be released and positioned at a substantially greater distance from the case than the other end of the handle for engagement by a user for dragging the case along the ground while allowing the user to maintain a relatively upright position. Wheels attached to the case define a plane along the ground.Type: GrantFiled: July 14, 1988Date of Patent: June 13, 1989Assignee: Delsey Luggage CompanyInventor: Ronald L. Krenzel

Patent number: 4762211Abstract: A method of manufacturing soft-sided luggage comprising the steps of forming in one piece an elongated plastic member having a U-shaped longitudinal cross section, transversely cutting from the member two frame elements of substantially identical, predetermined length, each frame element having a longitudinal U-shaped cross section including a base and two spaced, generally parallel legs, interconnecting the frame elements in opposed relationship by joining each opposed pair of legs with a one-piece resilient plastic wall element to form a generally rectangular hollow peripheral shell having two opposed open sides, and covering the shell with a flexible material including means for selectively obtaining access through at least one open side to the hollow interior of the shell.Type: GrantFiled: March 6, 1987Date of Patent: August 9, 1988Assignee: Delsey Luggage CompanyInventor: Ronald L. Patent number: 4703519Abstract: A sewn polyolefin in fabric bag which uses the molded shapes of the polyolefin material to form a shaped enclosure. Enclosure means and a fabric hinge are sewn directly to the polyolefin enclosure means to form the completed bag. The bags formed in this manner have many of the advantages of both soft and hard shelled bags. The polyolefin material is capable of providing a predetermined shape but has a soft exterior surface and is deformable. Sewing can be done using conventional sewing techniques. Polyolefin materials have not previously been usable in this manner because of their inability to bond or weld in reliable manner to other materials.Type: GrantFiled: January 6, 1986Date of Patent: October 27, 1987Inventor: Ronald L. Krenzel
