  • Patent number: 4848711
Abstract: A drum transporting arrangement characterized as a base or carrier presenting arms extending from a center pedestal and supported by legs and by the center pedestal. The arms are disposed in a pattern permitting ready introduction of the forks of a lift truck in the space between the arms and a floor area. Each arm includes an upstanding slotted projection adapted to receiving a securing band which encircles a drum received on the upper surface of the arms and the center pedestal. The arms each further include an angling portion for drum adaptation.

  • Patent number: 4829909
Abstract: A material transporting arrangement characterized by a base member presenting a core having integral or separable outwardly extending arms, where the upper surface of the core and the arms are coplaner and serve to receive material, such as rolled metal stock. The aforesaid arms include inverted T-shaped slots which are adapted to receive and retain the free ends (because of configuration) of tie straps which overlay the material. In one form, separable arms are provided, such being slidable into the form cutouts or recesses in the core to accommodate differences in rolled coil diameter size. With an integral core and arm arrangement, the unit is designed for a particular size rolled coil diameter. Coil edge protectors may be provided and, for durability, the base and the arms are made from a high density plastic resin.

  • Patent number: 4826015
Abstract: A rolled material handling arrangement characterized by at least a pair of flexible bases adapted to conform to the curvature of rolled sheet metal stock and support such for transport and/or storage. The bases each include downwardly extending anti-roll projections and a groove for receiving a tie strap which encircles the rolled stock and overlies a protective cover disposed around the outer diameter corner edge thereof. The arrangement permits on edge stock movement, i.e. along the flat surface of the sheet metal in contrast to the surface presented by the contiguous edges presented by successive layers of the roll.

  • Patent number: 4805777
Abstract: A material handling arrangement characterized as a grouping of individual stock receiving blocks which positively position the stock against unwanted movement when being transported by either a forklift truck, a sheet edge lifter, or other moving mechanisms, where such blocks, serving as a replacement for a conventional wooden pallet, are durable, lightweight and conveniently stacked for storage. Provision is made for the ready securing of the stock onto each of the blocks.
