Patent number: 9142342Abstract: A method and an apparatus are described for constructing a compact inductive-capacitive circuit, using a spiral inductor of more than one turn, plus a capacitive plate. This method includes duplicating the layout of the spiral, and then offsetting the duplicate so that the trace pattern of the spiral overlaps its duplicate at an insulating distance away, with the duplicate as an underlying capacitive plate. The plate's trace pattern includes at least one gap, plus an extension of its trace to span the region under the terminals of the spiral inductor. For the case where the spiral inductor has more than one turn—plus an underpass—the capacitive plate may also have more than one turn and may also have an underpass. The resulting pair of underpasses may be either overlapping or nonoverlapping. If overlapping, the full circuit requires at least four metal layers, and at least three if the underpasses are nonoverlapping.Type: GrantFiled: May 17, 2011Date of Patent: September 22, 2015Inventor: Ronald Lambert Haner

Patent number: 8717670Abstract: A fiber-MOPA includes a seed-pulse source followed by fiber amplifier stages. The seed pulse source delivers signal pulses for performing a laser operation and delivers radiation between the seed pulses to maintain the collective average of the seed pulse power and intermediate radiation power constant. Keeping this average power constant keeps the instantaneous available gain of the fiber amplifier stages constant. This provides that the seed pulse delivery can be changed from one regime to a next without a period of instability between the regimes.Type: GrantFiled: June 17, 2011Date of Patent: May 6, 2014Assignee: Coherent, Inc.Inventors: Andrei Starodoumov, Ronald Lambert, Michael Snadden, Andreas Diening

Patent number: 7143542Abstract: A decorative fly trap for household use includes a sconce having a housing including a bottom section and an overhead cover partially enclosing a source of UV light, and an adhesive trapping medium. The cover includes an intermediate surface extending from behind the UV light source upwardly and over the UV light source to a location forward of the light source. A base mount is removably assembled to the bottom of the unit so that the unit may either be wall mounted or supported on a horizontal surface, such as a table. A UV reflective coating is applied to the interior exposed surfaces of the housing including the curved intermediate surface of the cover to enhance the reflection of UV light out into the room and downwardly in front of the to attract insects. The housing includes a horizontal aperture for admitting reflected light from within the sconce onto a front surface of a lower tier of the bottom section for attracting insects as well as for presenting an attractive appearance.Type: GrantFiled: December 10, 2004Date of Patent: December 5, 2006Assignee: Paraclipse, Inc.Inventors: Larry R. Taylor, C. Ronald Lambert

Patent number: 7036268Abstract: A flying inspect trap has a source of UV light to attract insects and an adhesive sheet to trap them. A concave housing which encloses the light source and the trapping medium has a series of narrow light-transmissive slits in a front wall to permit a direct partial viewing of the source from the front of the unit to enhance insect attraction. A cover mounted above the housing has a reflecting surface in the form of a band shell which reflects light from the source out into the room as well as downwardly in front of the unit, and prevents light from shining directly or indirectly on the wall above the housing.Type: GrantFiled: April 26, 2004Date of Patent: May 2, 2006Assignee: Paraclipse, Inc.Inventors: Larry R. Taylor, C. Ronald Lambert

Patent number: 6871443Abstract: A flying inspect trap includes large, multi-directional, oppositely facing ingress openings to elongated chambers housing UV lamps emitting insect attractant light. A disposable cartridge has two sections which mate together to form a container for a roll of adhesive trapping medium. The cartridge sections are opened and spread apart to fit beneath the UV lamps. A motor indexes the adhesive medium so that some unused portion is always available for trapping insects until the roll is exhausted. The spent roll is then rolled into one cartridge section externally; and the two cartridge sections are coupled together to encase the spent roll for disposal.Type: GrantFiled: March 18, 2003Date of Patent: March 29, 2005Assignee: Paraclipse, Inc.Inventors: C. Ronald Lambert, Kevin D. Sinclair, Larry R. Taylor

Publication number: 20040259823Abstract: The invention relates to novel cationic amphiphiles having an aromatic ring comprising at least one nitrogen atom. The cationic amphiphiles are particularly useful for the introduction of biologically compounds such as DNA, RNA, proteins and the like into eukaryotic cells. The cationic amphiphiles are represented by the following basic formula:(I). Characteristic is that R1 and R2 ?are single C6-C24 carbon chains. For the mode of action it is assumed that R1 folds back over the aromatic ring towards R2.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 17, 2004Publication date: December 23, 2004Inventors: Anthony Jacques Ronald Lambert Hulst, Jarmila Smisterova, Jan Bernard Frederik Nicolaas Engberts, Dirk Hoekstra
