    Abstract: A system for treating wastewater having a treatment bed of particulate material, inflow distributing plumbing for applying wastewater from a wastewater supply source to upper part of the treatment bed. The wastewater percolates downwardly through the particulate material and is collected by outflow plumbing and conveyed out of the treatment bed. Preferably, the particulate material in the treatment bed is suitable for supporting aquatic plant life.
