Patents by Inventor Ronald Lee Loveday

Ronald Lee Loveday has filed for patents to protect the following inventions. This listing includes patent applications that are pending as well as patents that have already been granted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

  • Patent number: 9845902
Abstract: The present disclosure provides conduits with modified interior surfaces that increase the surface area of the interior surface of the conduit to provide the conduit with improved thermal energy exchange with the wall of the conduit. The modified interior surfaces can also be configured to reduce friction flow on the fluid passing therethrough.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 15, 2013
Date of Patent: December 19, 2017
    Assignee: INNERGEO LLC
    Inventor: Ronald Lee Loveday
  • Patent number: 9708885
Abstract: A method and apparatus for efficiently extracting geothermal energy from a subterranean thermal reservoir through a wellbore where the heat exchange fluid is introduced at a slower velocity than the velocity at which the fluid is extracted. The method and apparatus further comprises a region void of cement between the outer wall of a casing and the inner wall of the wellbore, such that thermally conductive material can be injected therein.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 24, 2015
Date of Patent: July 18, 2017
    Assignee: INNERGEO LLC
Inventors: Ronald Lee Loveday, J. Paul Mueller, Jr.

  • Publication number: 20140326668
Abstract: An apparatus and method for desalinating fluids produced or returning from a subterranean formation using pressure from a subterranean formation. Fluid from a formation is sent to a liquid/liquid separator for separating water from the fluid and then to a reverse osmosis unit, one or more of which are configured to operate from pressure delivered from a subterranean formation. The liquid/liquid separator operates under pressure and includes oleophilic materials for extracting oil from the formation fluid.

  • Publication number: 20130255258
Abstract: A method and apparatus for implementing the Rankine Cycle with improved efficiency through the use of thermal exchange between the working fluid and a brine liquid. In one embodiment, the brine liquid is further processed through a multistage flash distillation unit to produce distilled water or other minerals. Geothermal or exhaust waste heat may be used to further improve the Rankine Cycle efficiency, with remaining thermal energy improving the distillation process.
