    Abstract: A motor-vehicle headrest has an upright mounting rod adapted to be anchored in a vehicle seat back and an upright rear wall at an upper end of the rod and forming part of a rear forwardly open housing shell. An upright front wall forming part of a front rearwardly open housing shell is spaced forward of and directly forms with the rear wall a cavity containing the upper end of the rod. The front wall is formed by a pair of side portions unitary with each other and each forming a wing. Membrane hinges between and formed unitarily with the side portions pivot the side portions about at least one upright axis. Upholstery surrounds the portions of the front wall.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a headrest for a vehicle seat, comprising a cushion support (P) that is retained at the top of a backrest by means of at least one support bar (13) and surrounds a hollow space by means of housing walls (16, 18). The forward housing wall (16) of the cushion support (P), which forms a main surface, accommodates a head resting zone that is provided with two swing-lockable swiveling wings (F). Said swiveling wings (F) form a support structure for a cushion and are hinged in the central area (M) of the head resting zone so as to be pivotable about at least one vertical swiveling axis (20). The swing-lockable swiveling wings (F) are formed by the sections of the forward housing wall (18), which immediately border the hollow space of the cushion support (P).
