    Abstract: An adapter and syringe assembly is described in this application which includes a syringe and an adapter for anti-rotation, removal resistant connection to the syringe. The syringe has a body defining a fluid reservoir, a plunger assembly including a plunger head dimensioned to be slidably received within the reservoir, a fluid outlet, and a first coupling member. The adapter has a body portion defining a fluid channel, a collar portion, and a second coupling member configured to engage the first coupling member to secure the adapter to the syringe. The syringe includes at least one rib and a surface of the collar includes at least one protrusion. The at least one rib and the at least one protrusion are configured and positioned to interact to facilitate attachment of the adapter to the syringe but to resist detachment of the oral dose tip adapter from the syringe. The body portion of the adapter may define an oral dose tip or a needle hub assembly.

A dual spring-loaded inner needle is slidably disposed inside the conduit of the outer needle with the inner needle being operably is associated with a large spring that imparts a sufficient distal spring force to fully extend the blunt tip distal end of the inner needle beyond the sharp distal end of the outer needle and a small spring for imparting a smaller spring force thereto.

The ratio between the intersection area common to two ribs on different surfaces and the cross-sectional area of each rib is low, e.g. not greater than 2:1 to ensure transmission of orientation on subsequent stretching. The ribs between the grooves may be square, trapezoidal (provided that the included angle of the tapering sides is not greater than 45.degree.) or wider at its outer part than at its inner part. Ribs of these shapes, especially the last named, can be produced by using deformable, e.g. rubber, profiling means.

    Abstract: Interconnected fibres banded by cross-sectional orientation and morphology differences, in an array which can be bundled up to separate the fibres at least partially. A thermoplastic sheet emboding areas of different degrees of fibrillation is cold drawn to initiate longitudinally extending cracks in the areas of lower resistance to fibrillation such that the cracks terminate at the areas of higher resistance to fibrillation. The sheet is then further drawn at a higher temperature to open the cracks and to cause the cracks to propagate through the areas of higher resistance to fibrillation. Both drawing steps are performed without lateral extension.
