Patent number: 9852956Abstract: Various embodiments provide systems, computer program products and computer implemented methods. In some embodiments, a system includes a computer-implemented method of determining a laterally diffuse dopant profile in semiconductor structures by providing first and second semiconductor structures having plurality of gate array structures in a silicided region separated from each other by a first distance and second distance. A potential difference is applied across the plurality of gate array structures and resistances are determined. A linear-regression fit is performed on measured resistance versus the first distance and the second distance with an extrapolated x equals 0 and a y-intercept to determine a laterally diffused dopant-profile under the plurality of gate array structures based on a semiconductor device model.Type: GrantFiled: February 4, 2015Date of Patent: December 26, 2017Assignee: GLOBALFOUNDRIES, INC.Inventors: Lyndon Ronald Logan, Edward J. Publication number: 20060201022Abstract: An in-kiln moisture measurement system using in-kiln measurement electronics to produce wood moisture content readings virtually unaffected by temperature variations. The system comprises electrodes in communication with wood in a kiln, a per kiln unit (PKU) containing signal processing circuitry, and a sending unit with a circuit comprised of redundant half-circuits that compensate for the effects of temperature variations in the electronic components. One half-circuit measures moisture content of the wood; the other half-circuit measures a reference load. Matched characteristics of the transistors in each circuit ensure that each half-circuit's readings drift at about the same rate and in the same direction when experiencing temperature changes. An automatic tuning unit can be used to automatically adjust properties of the PKU's circuitry and compensate for other capacitances in the system.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 11, 2005Publication date: September 14, 2006Inventor: Ronald Logan

Publication number: 20060195475Abstract: An automatic digital image grouping system and method for automatically generating groupings of related images based on criteria that includes image metadata and spatial information. The system and method takes an unordered and unorganized set of digital images and organizes and groups related images into image subsets. The criteria for defining an image subset varies and can be customized depending on the needs of the user. Metadata (such as EXIF tags) already embedded inside the images is used to extract likely image subsets. This metadata may include the temporal proximity of images, focal length, color overlap, and geographical location. The first component of the automatic image grouping system and method is a subset image stage that analyzes the metadata and generates potential image subsets containing related images. The second component is an overlap detection stage, where potential image subset is analyzed and verified by examining pixels of the related images.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 28, 2005Publication date: August 31, 2006Applicant: Microsoft CorporationInventors: Ronald Logan, Richard Szeliski, Matthew Uyttendaele

Publication number: 20050216464Abstract: An automated or semi-automated authoring tool and method for incorporating maps and other geographical data in combination with text, photographs, and other multimedia data associated with a trip to produce a travelogue of the trip. The geographical travelogue authoring tool and method includes a number of geographically-oriented features that provide automation and are useful when blending the geographical data into the geographic travelogue. The geographic travelogue authoring method includes obtaining content items that are associated with a trip and geographically coding these content items. This serves to associate a geographic location from the trip with the content item. A map then is selected based on the trip, and the map and the geo-coded content items are automatically integrated with other multimedia data to generate the geographic travelogue.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 27, 2004Publication date: September 29, 2005Applicant: Microsoft CorporationInventors: Kentaro Toyama, Ronald Logan, Asta Roseway

Publication number: 20050198578Abstract: A system and process for controlling common information displays, referred to as shared displays, is presented. The system and process allows multiple modes of input using a set of modules that accept and display data from a variety of sources. Input modules are able to understand data from a single mode of communication and to be able to generate messages as output accordingly. An optional translation module takes discrete message units and converts them into commands or requests that can be processed by a logic module. The logic module includes any application that is running on the shared display. A layout module lays out the information output by the logic module and a display module takes the layout data and converts the information to a form that can be readily displayed on a display device.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 15, 2004Publication date: September 8, 2005Inventors: Maneesh Agrawala, Sumit Basu, Steven Drucker, Ronald Logan, Trausti Kristjansson, Tim Paek, Kentaro Toyama, Andrew Wilson

Patent number: 6144081Abstract: A field effect transistor (FET) device, which mitigates leakage current induced along the edges of the FET device, is isolated by shallow trench isolation having a channel width between a first and a second shallow trench at a first and second shallow trench edges. A gate extends across the channel width between the first and second shallow trenches. The gate has a first length at the shallow trench edges and a second length less than the first length between the shallow trench edges. The first length and the second length are related such that the threshold voltage, V.sub.t, at the shallow trench edges is substantially equal to V.sub.t between the shallow trench edges. The gate structure of the FET device is produced using a unique phase shift mask that allows the manufacture of submicron FET devices with very small channel lengths.Type: GrantFiled: October 11, 1995Date of Patent: November 7, 2000Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Louis Lu-Chen Hsu, Chang-Ming Hsieh, Lyndon Ronald Logan, Jack Allan Mandelman, Seiki Ogura
