  • Publication number: 20140079503
Abstract: A bobbin is provided and can be attached to almost any part of a surface for securing an item to the surface using an elasticized cord with hook ends. In one embodiment, a pre-existing fastener can be removed and replaced with a slightly longer fastener to mount the bobbin at that point. Where placement of the bobbin is made at a point where no pre-existing fastener exists, a bobbin and fastener can be placed there by simply drilling a hole and fastening the bobbin at that point. The present invention further provides an assembly that comprises a plurality of such bobbins, the bobbins being strategically located for securing particular types of items. It also provides the method for locating, fastening and using the assembly of bobbins.

  • Patent number: 8613578
Abstract: A hidden tie down provides a round collar that is inserted into a like-sized round aperture formed in a planar surface. A cap and cap mount are attachable to the collar at the outer face of the surface. A fastener secures the collar to the surface at the inner face of the surface. Two opposing bushings are disposed within the collar to retain each end of a hook loop within them. The hook loop includes a round lid that closes off a like-sized round opening in the cap such that, in one position, the lid closes off the cap opening and creates a substantially flush surface across the cap. In another position, the hook loop extends outwardly from the cap opening to provide an attachment structure. Each bushing includes a detent to retain the hook loop in a stowed position.

  • Publication number: 20130156527
Abstract: A tri-lobed lug has a centrally disposed aperture which allows the lug to rotate 360° about its axis. Each lobe of the lug can be used to secure an attachment means to it. This could be a rope, strap or other similar structure. Each lobe can also be used to loop such rope, strap, bungee cord hook or other structure through an aperture defined in the lobe. When such structure is secured to the lug, the lug can align itself in a direction of maximum strength. The lug portions further comprise rounded surfaces to prevent cutting or serration of the rope, strap or other similar structure. The tri-lobed lug is also used in an assembly comprising a bolt-like element, a bushing and a nut to attach the lug to a surface. The assembly may further comprise washer-like elements to prevent damage to the surface.

  • Publication number: 20130113634
Abstract: An LED road flare device provides an outer protective structure substantially in the form of a box-like rounded triangle. The outer protective structure comprises a first portion, which is a light-transparent enclosure having a plurality of LEDs disposed within it, and a second portion, which is a light-opaque resilient overlay comprising a front and rear face, the front and rear face being connected by a plurality of ribs defined at the outer edges of the faces. The LEDs are mounted within the transparent enclosure such that they are positioned between the ribs of the first portion to and are visible from outside the device. Electronic circuitry is provided to vary the lighting sequence of the LEDs when activated. A self-contained power supply is disposed within the transparent enclosure and means for recharging the power supply is also provided. Alternative embodiments include structure for supplemental stabilization of the device.

  • Publication number: 20120091686
Abstract: A boot rest provides a boot rest body that is attached to an engine guard using a pair of clamp collars and fasteners. The boot rest body has a top surface and a plurality of apertures defined within that top surface. Disposed below the top surface is a rubber support insert. The insert has a plurality of upwardly projecting members, each of which is positioned below a like-configured aperture defined within the top surface of the boot rest body such that the members extend through the boot rest body and provide a gripping surface. A lip can also be provided for the outer-most upwardly projecting member so as to urge the operator's legs or boots inwardly of the motorcycle.

  • Patent number: 5751251
Abstract: A closed cell foam tubular muff encircles the helical coil portion of an automobile cellular phone antenna, the muff has a slanted top surface and reduces pressure differentials around the coil. The streamlined muff thereby reduces wind-induced whistling of the antenna. An alternative device is a solid cylindrical foam insert with a plurality of depressions formed therein which engages within the coil of the antenna. Both devices not only reduce the pressure effects which lead to whistling, but also, because of their foam composition, contribute to a damping of any randomly occurring vibrations.
