  • Publication number: 20070029340
Abstract: A dispenser for individually dispensing items of merchandise, such as recorded media contained in rectangular-shaped boxes, from a plurality of vertically stacked media secured in a locked housing supported on a display fixture. A pivotally mounted security door closes and exposes an open front of the housing having an internal storage compartment for the stacked media. The door includes a magnetically actuated lock mechanism. A slide mechanism contained in a tray mounted beneath the housing has a tab which engages the rear of the bottommost media and ejects it through a lower discharge opening in the housing when actuated by a control button projecting from the front of the housing. A pivotally mounted transparent display panel is mounted on the front of the housing and contains one of the recorded media for viewing both sides thereof by a potential customer.

  • Publication number: 20060170550
Abstract: A security device for attachment to an article to deter theft of the article has a housing containing an alarm system including an audible alarm and an LED. A cable has one end attached to the housing and a second end attached to a plug which is selectively inserted into and locked to the housing. The cable includes a conductor electrically connected to the alarm system when in the locked position. The audible alarm is activated if the integrity of the cable is compromised. An EAS tag located in the housing will actuate an alarm at a security gate and can actuate the audible alarm of the security device when the device is in proximity to a security gate. • Publication number: 20060157431
Abstract: A lock mechanism is mounted on a merchandise display rod to prevent the removal of some items of merchandise from the rod. A pair of members are pivotally joined at one end and move between locked and unlocked positions. Each of the members is formed with a partial slot which align with each other when in the locked position to extend about the rod. A magnetically attractable plunger is mounted within one of the members and engages a recess formed in the other member to secure the members in a closed locked position on the rod. A magnetic key moves the plunger to an unlocked position to enable the members to pivot apart to an unlocked open position. The distal end of the rod is bent at an angle sufficient to prevent sliding removal of the lock mechanism from the rod when the members are in the locked position yet enable removal of merchandise items forward of the lock mechanism from the rod.

  • Publication number: 20060145848
Abstract: A security device includes a mechanism for attaching the security device to an article of merchandise. A circuit module containing a central controller is contained in the security device and monitors the attachment mechanism to sound an audible alarm contained in the security device if the integrity of a sense loop in the attachment mechanism is compromised. A trigger circuit also actuates the audible alarm if the security device approaches the vicinity of a remote security gate. An EAS tag contained in the security device actuates a security gate alarm upon the unauthorized passage of the article of merchandise through the gate. Other sense loops will actuate the audible alarm through the central controller if a switch within the security device is actuated or when an unlocking mechanism or verification device is used on the security device.

A slide member is moveable by a three position key operated tumbler between locked and unlocked positions across the storage compartment opening. A cam is slidably engageable with the slide member and is moveable by the tumbler for moving the slide member between the locked and unlocked positions. An alarm deactivation switch is actuated by the cam when the tumbler is rotated by the tumbler key to a third position past the locked position. The alarm communicates with a sense loop extending through a flexible expandable cord attaching the key to the housing. An LED provides a visual indication that the alarm is activated.

  • Publication number: 20050173273
Abstract: A retaining device for a disc-shaped item of recorded media includes at least one arm that projects through the central opening of the disc with a locking finger that engages the upper edge of the disc. The disc is released when the user pushes downwardly on the retaining device to collapse the arm through the central opening of the disc to release the disc. The downward force on the device forces portions of the retaining device below the bottom wall of the container. When the downward force is released, the arms engage the lower inner edge of the disc and hold the disc on top of the retaining device. The invention also provides a disc-holding page that snaps into the lid of the container to allow a second disc to be stored.

  • Patent number: 5338501
Abstract: A method of molding and a mold for making bathtubs are disclosed. The mold includes a mold receptor and a deck insert attached to the mold receptor face. The preferred deck insert has at least one projection designed to reduce the cross-sectional area of a portion of a void between the shell's deck and the deck forming face of the insert. Preferably, the distance from the outer edge of the shell's deck to the outer edge of the projection is about 16% of the length of the deck of the sanitary fixture. The mold receptor receives a shell which has a finish side and a non-finish side. The shell is placed in the mold receptor leaving a void between the non-finish side of the shell and the deck insert of the receptor. The insert is attached to the mold receptor to reduce the cross-sectional area of a portion of the space between the shell deck and mold receptor. A male mold engages the finish side of uhe shell, sealably retaining the shell to the mold receptor.
