  • Patent number: 4878255
Abstract: A hinge assembly for adjustably mounting a toilet covering member to the rear of a toilet is disclosed. In one form, a hinge block has a compartment with serrations to adjustably receive a bushing with complementary serrations. A mounting bolt is placed through an opening in the hinge block and the bushing for engagement with a nut to secure the hinge assembly to the toilet. In one embodiment, the hinge block supports opposing hinge brackets for the toilet covering member with the hinge pin trapped by the mounting of one of the brackets. In an especially preferred form, the hinge assembly is employed with a cover and a toilet having matching curved front portions.

  • Patent number: 4757560
Abstract: A one piece gasket for a toilet which eliminates the use of separate sealing washers and spacing devices is disclosed. The one piece gasket is formed with flange portions extending from a central sealing portion and has upstanding connectors (with fastener through bores) extending from the flange portions. The connectors can have an enlarged washer head and a bumper element. The washer heads provide an expansion fit into tank fastener holes for preliminary positioning of the gasket. In a preferred manner, the washer heads are of a frusto-conical configuration.

  • Patent number: 4729134
Abstract: A hinge assembly for mounting a toilet covering member to the rear of a toilet so as to permit rotation of the covering about a hinge axis between an up and a down position is disclosed. In one form, a pair of hinge posts are mounted to the rear of the toilet which extend along a hinge axis. Each of a pair of hinge receiving elements are mounted to the toilet covering and has a bore which is alignable with one of the hinge post elements along the hinge axis. The hinge post elements have lugs axially spaced apart from stops and the bores in the hinge receiving elements are key-hole shaped to permit a key and slot type connection between the hinge post elements and the hinge receiving elements. The toiet covering member is captured on the toilet by axially inserting the hinge post elements into the corresponding bores and rotating the hinge post elements relative to the hinge receiving elements about the hinge axis to lock the elements together.

  • Patent number: 4433446
Abstract: A flush valve connectable to a wall of a toilet tank is disclosed. In one embodiment, there is a non-circular outlet formed in the bottom wall of the tank. There is also a resilient seal bearing against an upper surface of the bottom wall, the seal surrounding the outlet and having a central bore aligned therewith. A flush valve is provided having a housing that extends through the seal bore and outlet. The housing also has an outwardly extending flange above the seal to trap the seal against the bottom wall, and a radially outwardly extending projection below the bottom wall. The housing is rotatable between a first position in which the projection can pass vertically through the outlet, and a second position where the projection can catch under the bottom wall.

  • Patent number: 4195704
Abstract: An agricultural tractor includes a rearwardly extending drawbar connected to a hitch member on the tongue of a trailing implement through a hitch adapter that includes a housing mounted on the rearward end of the drawbar and connected thereto by a vertical pin extending through a vertical bore in the housing and the drawbar, the rearward end of the adapter being pivotally connected to the implement tongue by a vertical pin, the axis of which is equidistant from the front and rear universal joints of a PTO hook-up assembly that connects the tractor power take-off to the implement driveshaft.

  • Patent number: 4184558
Abstract: An agricultural implement has a forwardly extending tongue connectible to the drawbar of a towing tractor and includes a fore and aft drive shaft that is disposed above the tongue and adapted to be connected to the PTO output shaft of the tractor by a PTO hookup assembly that includes front and rear universal joints respectively connectible to the implement drive shaft. When the hookup assembly is not connected to the tractor, the front end of the assembly is supported on the implement by a support that includes a support member swingably mounted on the implement tongue for shifting between a folded storage position and an upright operative position. A hook-like retainer member is mounted on the upper end of the support member and is shiftable between a generally upright position, wherein it is capable of receiving the central body portion of the hookup assembly, and a canted position wherein the hookup assembly cannot be withdrawn from the retainer member so that the hookup assembly is locked to the support.

  • Patent number: 4156473
Abstract: A hitch adapter connects a tractor drawbar to an implement hitch pin and includes a cast housing having top and bottom walls and a forwardly open chamber that receives the rearward end of the tractor drawbar. The housing has a pair of vertical openings elongated in a transverse direction and receiving vertical bolts having nuts at their lower ends which are tightenable to clamp the housing between the head of the bolt and the nut. The shanks of the bolts are disposed on opposite ends of the drawbar and are shiftable laterally in the openings to engage the opposite side of the drawbar to limit lateral movement of the housing relative to the drawbar, the nuts being tightened to clamp the bolts in the selected position. Serrated surfaces are provided on both the top and bottom of the housing around the openings, and each bolt is provided with a pair of washers having serrated surfaces that respectively engage the serrated surfaces on the top and bottom of the housing.
