  • Publication number: 20230293848
Abstract: Disclosed herein are intermittent-catheter assemblies and methods thereof. An intermittent-catheter assembly includes, in some embodiments, a collapsible catheter housing and an intermittent catheter. The catheter housing can include an inner sleeve and an outer sleeve slidably mounted over the inner sleeve. Alternatively, the catheter housing can include an outer sleeve and a collapsible outer cover coupled to the outer sleeve. The intermittent catheter includes a funnel and a catheter tube coupled to the funnel. The intermittent-catheter assembly has a storage state and an opened state. In the storage state, the intermittent catheter is sealed within the catheter housing. In the opened state, the catheter housing is collapsed exposing the funnel of the intermittent catheter for removal of the intermittent catheter from the catheter housing. Methods of the intermittent-catheter assemblies include a method of using an intermittent-catheter assembly.

  • Publication number: 20230293849
Abstract: Disclosed are an intermittent-catheter assemblies and packages, carrying cases, and methods thereof. For example, an intermittent-catheter assembly can include an intermittent catheter and a catheter housing. The intermittent catheter can include a proximal piece (106), a cap (110) configured to cap a proximal opening of the proximal piece, and a catheter tube (114) fluidly connected to the proximal piece. The catheter housing can be around at least the catheter tube. The catheter housing can include a distal piece (130) and a collapsible sheath (148). The distal piece can include a lubricating means for lubricating the catheter tube when the distal piece is proximally slid over the catheter tube. The collapsible sheath can include a distal portion (146) coupled to the distal piece and a proximal portion (148) coupled to a neck of the proximal piece. An entirety of the catheter tube can be disposed in the catheter housing in a packaged state of the intermittent-catheter assembly.

  • Publication number: 20230040583
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a medical pad for exchanging thermal energy between a targeted temperature management (TTM) fluid and a patient. The pad can include a central pad and a plurality of extension pads coupled with the central pad, where the extension pads extend away from right and left lateral sides of the central pad and where each of the central pad and the plurality of extension pads includes a fluid containing layer configured for circulation of a TTM fluid therein. A method can include removing a portion of the hydrogel liner and placing a remaining portion of the hydrogel liner between the hydrogel layer and the patient. The method can also include rotating and folding one or more of the extension pads to defeat the thermal energy exchange of the rotated and folded extension pads.

  • Publication number: 20220296414
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a system, apparatus and method directed to reducing patient contact area of a medical pad for exchanging thermal energy between a targeted temperature management (TTM) fluid and a patient. The system, apparatus and method pertain to a medical pad that includes a fluid containing layer for containing the TTM fluid and a patient contact surface. The fluid containing layer is configured for circulating the TTM fluid within the fluid containing layer. The patient contact surface defines a patient contact area to facilitate thermal energy exchange with the patient. The pad can be segmented into a main pad section and one or more foldable sections configured to be folded by a user, thereby reducing the patient contact area. The circulation of the TTM fluid within the fluid containing layer may be constricted by a fold of the one or more foldable sections while folded.
